Breganze Engineering is a new company specialising in engineering services to owners of Laverda's range of 500cc twin-cylinder motorcycles made between 1977 and 1982. The standard lubrication system is very crude especally in the cylinder head area & the bikes suffer from premature bore, bucket/follower, cam bearing/ journal & valve guide wear & overheating of the oil, resulting in horrific oil c
onsumption. We offer several levels of modification, from mild to quite extensive, depending on how far the customer wants to go & what his/her particular needs are. Services include machining the upper cranckcase to provide a feed & return for an oil cooler, converting the camshaft bearings to pressure-fed phosphor bronze & machining oil traps to increase the supply to the vunerable cam buckets. We also offer valve seat recutting, valve refacing (when possible) & lapping - in, also new Phosphor Bronze valve guides to replace the fast-wearing cast iron originals. The guides use easily obtainable Honda seals as supplies of the original type seals dried up some time ago. All work, except TIG welding, is carried out in our own well equipped machine shop. Welding is done by a local specialist that we have been using for over 30 years. We also offer general machine shop services to anyone restoring a classic bike, wether Italian, British or Japanese, including turning, milling, reaming, grinding, 1- off bushes, valve guides, studs, dry beadblasting, helicoiling, thread repairs etc. We have a big stock of taps & dies in both Metric fine & coarse, UNF, UNC & BSCY. We have a large stock of both fixed & adjustable reamers & can cover all common sizes.
