Suspension Noises & Investigation ⚙️

Straight in with the investigation, fault read and a full inspection of this vehicle to see what the dealership have mentioned and what’s actually needed. List of various items noted, and the last final one was the road test. Well there was a large amount of judder on acceleration as we know the xDrive systems very well, the question was asked…

“When was your TRANSFER BOX oil changed?” Never knew it needed to be replaced 🫣

So with this being a newer style transfer box. Oil procedure is a little different and full diagnostic service function has to be carried out with wear parameters reset accordingly.

Finished off with getting all the worn out suspension arms on the front replaced.

Brake Fluid Leak 💧💧💧

Carried out brake fluid pressure test. Wiggled the brake reservoir and unfortunately fluid was passing by.

Removed cleaned, fresh new seals and a brake fluid change it was good to go.

It’s nice to keep the old 90s car going strong

Vehicle came to us after multiple times of having to top up the main coolant tank/system. Coolant pressure tests confirmed a few areas of leakage that had been going on for some time one area was just leaking all the time.

Vehicle recovered to us for heavy powering. Battery warning light on display and a loose belt. Parts were ordered prior and we knew straight away what it was going to be.

As to be expected, crankshaft pulley/vibration dampener failure.

Vehicle came to us straight from purchase for our post purchase inspection. Due to being low mileage and spent much time tucked away not being used has its advantages and disadvantages. We instantly picked up items carried out previously that had not to the standard as we like 👍
