After the rather large fire in the early hours of Saturday we are fortunately unaffected and trading as normal..

As always, the timing locking tools may give you a base setting, but never assume it’s perfect..

1.9tdi ALH Caddy belt kit replacement including Pump..

Injection timing dialled in perfectly using vcds to ensure proper combustion, performance and emissions. This will help with next job job of over size nozzles along with correcting the I.Q..

V.w golf mk5 tdi..
Customer complained of vibration and rattling which had stopped and then reappeared..

Wonder why.. DMF was locked solid and required the centre cutting away to allow access to the retaining bolts.

This VW caddy was towed into us in this condition.. It was said it initially had cut out and struggled to restart..

Before we could diagnose anything we need to reassemble the van..

We started by fitting a new cambelt kit including pump, refitting covers and inner arch liner..
on running the vehicle it had a substantial oil leak from the filter housing to the block..
It had been removed to aid in fitting a non genuine crank sensor.. We fitted a genuine crank sensor and renewed the steel gasket for the housing..

Once van was running we were able to diagnose a signal fault from the crank sensor, the result with further investigation was a broken wire from the crank sensor plug to the ecu..

We replaced the wire then reassembled the scuttle and refitted the wiper arms..

The van now started, ran and drove as it should..

Simple diagnostics would have saved all this work..
