For those of you wanting to refresh your MGTF Bilstein ride units, or carrying out routine maintenance, VHS Ltd can help with the following:-

MGTF bump stop (Spring aid) upgrade for Bilstein dampers

The Bilstein polymer bump stop or spring aid can degrade with time. As it comes into contact early in the suspension travel, it may also limit the lowering potential if using the spring seat height adjustment, or after market springs.
Developed by us for the factory 85th Anniversary TF, this new bump stop comes into contact later to help ride comfort, provides the required full bump protection, allows the car to be lowered if desired and has extended durability. Never previously available in the aftermarket, this part has been reintroduced by Vehicle Handling Solutions Ltd. Price £32 + VAT per pair.

MGTF Bilstein damper blue shroud (dirt shield)

Now available, a replacement Bilstein damper shroud. Price £15 + VAT each.

All MGTF - spring and damper assembly refurbishment parts

Thin top nut which clamps the spring damper assembly together before fitting to the car. This has the correct (14mm across flats) dimension to prevent damage to the top mounting rubbers. Price £1.20 + VAT each.

Top mounting plate. Front or rear. £3 + VAT each.

Top mount spacer tube. £1.80 + VAT each.

Top mount spacer washer. Front £1.20 + VAT each, rear £2.20 + VAT each.

A quick note to all ZR owners.

Replacement front struts and rear dampers (or front and rear shock absorbers) to OE specification have not been available for some time now. MG ZR owners have been faced with a dilemma; fit incorrect new parts, dubious second-hand parts or aftermarket ‘tuning’ parts.

To solve this problem, we have ordered another batch of our OE spec parts. Made again for us by Bilstein in Europe, these are high quality replacements that provide the performance we developed for the original MG ZR, including the all important front strut internal rebound spring.

MGTF160

Owned by the ex-MG Rover Chassis Development lead engineer, this car has been used to hone dynamic improvements by Vehicle Handling Solutions Ltd. Now fitted with our latest VHS Bilstein dampers, uprated anti roll bars, and adjustable front lower arms (with corrected geometry and bump steer), it rides and handles as you would expect. The driving experience is enhanced by the VHS lowered seats and the car will be provided with the ride height of your choice.

Dry stored for 8 years and used primarily for the development of our ideas and demonstration drives. Progressively improved over the years, the car is in excellent condition throughout and can be inspected on our ramp.

12 months MOT (no advisories) and recent full service including belts, water pump, and head gasket. Many new parts and sensible upgrades including stainless underfloor pipes, new internal water pipes, and radiator.

Factory windstop included and hard top available by separate negotiation if required.

Many thanks for all the interest, and uptake on the ZT 260 spring kits folks. By way of an update, we have reached the point at which the outstanding liability is such that we we can place an order for a batch, maintaining the £333 +VAT figure, provided all interested parties are still happy to go ahead with the 50% deposits. We will be in touch shortly to take deposits from those happy to do so. Thanks to those that have already expressed an interest in the ZT260 spring kits, as a reminder we can potentially offer these at £333 + VAT, split into 2 payments of £166.50 + VAT. The first payment on deposit would secure your order for the kit, as mentioned previously.
With OE springs, no longer available there may be limited options for anyone unfortunate enough to suffer a broken spring. This could be a relatively economic fix should the latter occur.
We will notify those interested, in the order status, should there be enough interest to kick it off.

Calling all ZT260 owners. We are reviewing stock levels, and considering a new batch of ZT260 lowering spring kits. For more details on these please see our products page at VehicleHandlingSolutions.com
These are Eibach springs which require significant order volumes to meet a reasonable economy of scale.
The ZT260 is becoming an appreciating classic that we hope many owners will enjoy for years to come. However there are a relatively low number of vehicles.
To help mitigate costs, and gauge the seriousness of interest in these kits we would only order if sufficient deposits of 50% of the total cost are placed. This means, for an initial payment of £166.50 + VAT followed by a repeat payment of £166.50 + VAT upon receipt of the kit, you can potentially secure your lowering spring kit.
We stress however that we could only go ahead if sufficient orders are placed. To help kick this off, simply let us know if you would like to make the initial 50% deposit.

Should be a good weekend coming up, the MG & Triumph day at Stoneleigh on Sunday 12th. Sharing some space with us on the stand will be a really interesting project from Retro Sports Cars, their TF Coupe. This is quite a comprehensive refresh of the popular little 2 seater MG. It's been lengthened to allow a wider choice of alternative powertrains, and with support from VHS, heavily revised axle concepts, not to mention the structural changes afforded by the coupe body style.
