We will have wheelchairs and electric scooters available for hire to enable disabled, injured, or elderly visitors to get around safely and comfortably.

The show is open from 10 am till 4.30 pm both days, and this year our hire charge for an electric scooter will be £28 per day.

Community Grant Helps TeignMobility Keep Shaldon Accessible for Everyone
Shaldon, Devon – TeignMobility is delighted to announce it has received a £1,500 grant from the Hall & Woodhouse Community Chest, enabling the charity to purchase a new mobility scooter for use by local residents and visitors.
The cheque was presented by Anthony Woodhouse Chairman of Hall & Woodhouse, to Brian Hamblin, a Trustee of TeignMobility, at The Ness Hotel in Shaldon – a much-loved local hotel and restaurant run by Hall & Woodhouse and a valued part of the community.
Anthony Woodhouse spoke about the importance of supporting local people, saying:
“TeignMobility plays a vital role in helping people who find it difficult to get around. It’s a charity that really makes a difference in everyday life, and we’re pleased this support will help more people enjoy what Shaldon has to offer.”
Brian Hamblin highlighted the impact the new scooter will have locally:
“This scooter will help people living in or visiting Shaldon to stay active, independent and connected. It will enable them to get out, enjoy the beautiful views, and spend time in local places such as The Ness, meeting friends and being part of the community.”
TeignMobility provides mobility scooters and wheelchairs for hire, helping ensure that everyone—whatever their mobility—can take part in community life and enjoy all that the area has to offer. TeignMobility is based in the Quay Car Park in Teignmouth and is run by volunteers. The office is open weekdays between 10am and Noon, and the phone is manned during weekdays 01626 777775.

Mayor of Teignmouth Presents £983 Donation to TeignMobility.

TeignMobility, the local charity providing mobility scooters and wheelchairs to help disabled people get around Teignmouth, has received a generous donation of £983 from the Mayor of Teignmouth Town Council.
The cheque was presented by the Mayor of Teignmouth, Councillor Cate Williams, along with fellow councillors, to Brian Hamblin, Chair of the Trustees of TeignMobility, on Tuesday 13 January 2026, prior to a council meeting. TeignMobility was chosen as one of the Mayor’s nominated charities for her 2024/25 mayoral year.
Brian Hamblin thanked the Mayor and councillors for their support, saying the donation was “very generous” and would make the running of the charity much easier. He highlighted that TeignMobility relies heavily on volunteers to deliver its services to the community.
TeignMobility operates from its premises in the Quay car park, which have limited opening hours, particularly during the winter months when demand is lower. However, the charity runs a 24/7 phone line and, wherever possible, will open up and supply mobility equipment when it is needed.
Hiring a mobility scooter for the day is a great way to enjoy Teignmouth, from the seafront to the shops and cafés, helping people remain independent and active while visiting the town.

TeignMobility were delighted to be awarded first in class J at Teignmouth Carnival. We were pleased that a special guest, Paddington, could join us for the ride.

URGENT
We need more volunteers to help us through the summer. If you can spare a couple of hours a week to man our office and meet client we would love to hear from you.

Help make our clients enjoy some independence by enabling them to get around to the shops, promenade and cafes etc.

Mobility Scooter and wheelchair hires are busier now Spring is here. Our clients are able to enjoy themselves so much more with our help.

We need YOUR HELP. We particularly need help on Wednesday and Thursday morning and help with deliveries at the weekends. If you can spare a couple of hours a week please ring us on 01626 777775

We were busy over Christmas providing wheelchairs and scooters for disabled family members visiting and also to people who sustained injuries over the festive period.

We are operating with 3 volunteers at the moment and are therefore not open all the time but we will happily serve you if we can, even if the office is closed. The phone is always diverted to one of the volunteers.

We have had a successful year helping people enjoy the local area by providing scooters, wheelchairs and strollers.

However, unfortunately, a couple of our volunteers have retired, and we need to replace them. So, if you could spare a few hours a week by either dealing with clients, cleaning equipment or delivering equipment please give us a ring on 01626 777775.
