County Classics Motor Museum Patrick Hawkins the founder and chairman of County Classics Motor Museum of Taunton, Somerset enjoyed a huge passion and love for motor vehicles.

At the age of just 11 years, he bought and sold his first car happily spending time repairing and restoring a vehicle that needed to be brought back to life. This passion continued throughout his career , which was always in the motor trade and included owning a successful wholesale and retail tyre business. An avid collector of cars and motorcycles it was always a dream one day he would fulfil hi

s ambition to open a car museum in Taunton his hometown. to share his passion and to give something back to Taunton. The exhibits on show will predominantly range from late 1950's to the 1980's for motor vehicles and motorcycles from 1915 to the 1980's, there is even a aeroplane bought on a whim it is also on display. A few of the exhibits include, Ford Es**rt Rally car once owned by Marcus Gronholm another Ex Works Ford Es**rt Group A Rally car that was Mark Lovell's first ever works car a Porsche 924 record braking car as drive by Tony Dron, Andy Rouse and Win Percy a Ford Mustang Mach 1 Cobra Jet a E Type Jaguar Villiers 1964 off road motor bike and a BSA Shooting Star and many, many more. There is a onsite café open to the public offering a array of drinks, light lunches and snacks, there is also a gift shop situated in the entrance lobby, selling motoring memorabilia, souvenirs and car care products. The museum is run on a not for profit basis and is a registered charity and the number is 11889611A

If you are e member of a club, society or any group looking for speakers we would be pleased to provide you with an experienced presenter who can tell you all about our origins and our exhibits. There is a small fee but all monies raised in this way go to support the work of the registered charity which runs the museum. We often have car clubs visit the Museum and we were delighted to welcome the Bristol Microcar Club, when they visited celebrating their 40th anniversary while on their rally.
We are fortunate enough to have a wonderful example in the Museum kindly lent us by Wynford one of our dedicated volunteers. If you are a member of a club and would like to make a group visit, do get in touch.

We are delighted it has cooled down and we can welcome you back, just to remind you our opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 4.30pm. The County Cafe has all your homemade favourites to tempt you.
There are quite a few changes and additions been made to our exhibits, so plenty to see, we look forward to sharing these with you. See you soon.

Due to the extreme heat warning continuing we have made the difficult decision, in the interest of staff, volunteers and visitors safety to remain closed until Tuesday the 30th of June. With the temperature in the cafe over 40 degrees, it is just not safe.
We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We really cannot wait for the weather to be less extreme and welcome you all back. Please stay safe.

A change in opening times and days at the Museum. Due to the extreme heat and Red Warning we have made the decision to ensure our staff, volunteers and visitors safety we will be closing today at 2pm and will be closed Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th we will reopen on Friday the 26th of June from 10am and close at 4pm.

We are delighted to have teamed up with East Devon Slot Racing Club. They put a superb display in the Museum with some very rare slot cars in place. At Patrick Day the 2nd of August you will be able to have a go on the track they are brining for the day.
They will also have some of their experts on hand to chat and discuss all things slot cars.

Would you like to be part of a friendly engaging team in a historic grade ꞮꞮ listed building, with a range of fantastic exhibits!

Do you have experience in preparing, cooking and serving fresh food items, may also be required to cover reception at times?

Do you have skills in customer service?

Are you barista trained?

Do you have high standards of cleanliness within a work environment?

Are you available up to 16 hours per week?

Do you have flexibility up to 30 hours per week?

Pay: Minimum Wage

Full training given and all equipment provided.
