The Tain Gala Association is pleased to introduce a new category for this year’s Tain Vintage Car Rally on Sunday 21st June.

Alongside our traditional classes, we are now welcoming entries for Performance & Modified Vehicles. Whether it’s enhanced, customised, or built for performance, we’d love to see your vehicle take part.

G Bannerman (Tain) Ltd is looking for Qualified Mechanics to join our HGV and Car/LCV teams in our new purpose-built workshop in Tain!

🛠️If you are a time-served professional looking for a secure role in a family-run business that’s been around since 1970, we want to hear from you.
💰 Salary: Basic rate of £42,000+ per year (plus additional overtime regularly available).
⏰ Hours: Mon–Fri with optional overtime at enhanced rates (1.5x and 2x!).
🚛Optional opportunity for additional overtime carrying out roadside and recovery work within the recovery department on an on call rota basis - HGV not essential
📍 Location: Tain, IV19 1EB.

What we’re looking for:
✅ Qualified and time-served.
✅ Happy to consider semi-skilled with experience
✅ Full UK Driving Licence preferred.

❄️ A busy day for the recovery team! ❄️

Today saw some of our units out battling the wintry condition.

🔧 X975 the heavy wrecker was in full winter mode winching HGVs back onto the road after they fell foul of the snow — all luckily drove away with only minor cosmetic damage.

🚙 Our 4x4 was busy all day carrying out winch-outs and towing vehicles from snow drifts and the slippery car parks around the local towns.

🚛 Two of the slide beds were also kept going non-stop, carrying out recoveries, winch-outs, jump starts and any other jobs required by them.

The snow has certainly made for a busy start to 2026! If you need a recovery, jump start, or help getting out of a wintry predicament, don’t hesitate to give us a call — 24/7, 365 days a year.

And just like that, the doors are closing on 2025 🎉

It’s been a fantastic year for us, with new investment, a huge number of tyres sold, plenty of recoveries, and lots more along the way.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers, old and new, for your continued support. A massive thank you as well to our incredible team for all the hard work and dedication throughout the year — we couldn’t do it without you.
