2014 Vauxhall Adam in to investigate poor working air conditioning and suspected leak 🫠🥵
The Snap On leak sniff detector did its job well, proof with the bumper removed for access showed the leaking condenser
Swiftly replaced and a fresh vacuum of the system, correct amount of refrigerant and a leak dye for any future problems

2019 Nissan Juke 1.0 petrol 51,000 miles it’s first major service in 7 years 😳 unfortunately the jobs mounted up 🔧
Major service, oil, air, pollen filters, as can be seen the original filters from new , absolutely filthy, now the vehicle can breathe again ✅
Fresh new iridium spark plugs, the original from new removed ✅
Brake fluid flush and change ✅
All new Bosch wipers all round to replace the split tired old ones ✅
New quality branded brake discs and pads front and rear to replace the tired out worn ones ✅
This vehicle now will be more fuel ⛽️ efficient and runs much smoother and gives it reliability for the future 👌🔧

Landrover discovery 3.0 TDV6 in for diagnostics limp mode reduced power. It’s been to another garage while the customer was far away on holiday. What this garage did beggars belief 🤔
So the diesel particulate filter is blocked in the exhaust, the vehicle has faults stored that have caused this. A DPF doesn’t normally block without something causing it, especially as the vehicle has been down the motorway on a long journey. This garage charged my customer £95 for a pointless exercise driving her vehicle around for 90 minutes using her fuel up to regenerate the DPF to no avail because there is an underlying fault staring them in the face even documented on their invoice ⚠️
The next post will show the correct procedure to identify what was wrong

2018 Vauxhall Grandland climate control no blowers ☀️🥵😢
No relevant fault codes stored 🧐
Main fuse ok. Watching live data on the scan tool could see the operation of the fan switch was working so ruled out the control panel as faulty 🤔
Further testing found no power ⚡️ to the blower motor
This is fed power ⚡️ from the resistor that controls the speed of the fan. This had a low voltage supply 🤔
Main relay was tested ok. The plot thickens, but patience paid off, in front of the heater box in a multi plug, it had started to melt 🫠 causing a high resistance on the earth side. No plug repair kit available from manufacturer. With it cut out and wiring repaired we have a fully functioning climate control system again 🥶😱❄️❄️🔧👌

2010 Audi A3 TDI with a corroded outer sill resulting in an mot failure 😢
These are not the easiest to repair for several reasons, multiple shapes to fabricate, the rear 1/4 panel is stuffed full of sound deadening creating a huge fire 🔥 risk- removing is a must! Then these were wax oiled internally from the factory which runs into what you are welding! This one went well as can be seen by the welds 🔧👌 it’s all in the preparation with a job like this. Rot cut out back to sound metal, fabricated new sections welded in, etch primer on bare metal, followed by high build primer then under body coating and everything joint sealed. Should last the vehicle a few years ahead 👌

My good regular customer Dom’s Toyota Landcruiser in for it’s regular yearly service. Nothing much to report as regular maintenance had paid off 👌🔧
Full service this time, fuel ⛽️ from the filter had some contamination in it, couple of recommendations to address, but regular maintenance has paid off dividends for this vehicle 🔧 the old fashioned grease gun was out to do every joint 👌 super reliable vehicle enjoy working on it

2014 Peugeot Partner HDI van clutch slipping so badly barely made it to the workshop! Whip out of the gearbox 💪 reveals a clutch worn to the rivets, done well on its original at 174,000 miles. Fresh new clutch kit, new drop link, and fresh gear oil, the old gear oil seems contaminated with water somehow

🔧🔧 2011 Vauxhall Corsa for an exchange engine replacement. Not a simple job, so many ancillary components to swap over to the replacement reconditioned engine. Fresh new clutch kit and concentric slave cylinder fitted. Rotten exhaust manifold studs replaced. Engine and gearbox as one unit removed by 11.30am from a 9am start 💪
Completed and running the same day 🔧 some fettling to finish tomorrow with an extended road test on the yellow sunshine ☀️ vehicle to ensure everything correct 👌
Some may say was it worth spending this on a vehicle this age. The customer took much consideration over it, but end of the day their decision, and used vehicles are crazy expensive and you don’t know what you will end up with, possibly more problems!
