💙 MEET THE TEAM MONDAY: LEIGH 💙

Meet Leigh, one of the directors here at M&S Van & Truck Rentals! 👋

🚐 Time at M&S: 14 years

😊 Favourite part of the job: Talking to our lovely customers, helping them choose the right van and making sure they leave happy with the service

☕ Coffee order: A caramel latte from Asylum Coffee 👌🏼

Something you might not know about Leigh: Leigh has played ice hockey since he was 13—and he’s still playing now!

His top tip when hiring a van: Check the size before you book. Vans can look smaller in photos, so you’re more than welcome to come and see one in person if you’re unsure.

🚚 HIRING A VAN FOR THE FIRST TIME? HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

Never hired a van before? Don’t worry — it’s pretty straightforward, and we’re always happy to help.

Here are 5 things to think about before booking:

1️⃣ Choose the right size van
Don’t automatically book the biggest! Tell us what you’re moving and we can help you choose a suitable vehicle.

2️⃣ Have your driving licence ready 🪪
We’ll need to check the relevant driver details before your hire. We’ll explain exactly what you need when you book.

3️⃣ Think about your journey 📍
How far are you travelling? Will you need to park somewhere tight? Are there any height restrictions? The right van can make a BIG difference.

4️⃣ Book early — especially for weekends! 📅
Moving house on a Saturday? Don’t leave your Luton until Friday afternoon… 👀 Our popular vehicles can get booked up.

5️⃣ Don’t forget the moving supplies! 📦
Need boxes, bubble wrap, packing tape or garment carriers? You can pick those up from us too.

😬 NEVER DRIVEN A VAN BEFORE?

Hiring a van for the first time can feel a little daunting — but give yourself a few minutes to get comfortable before setting off.

Here are 5 things to remember:

1️⃣ It’s bigger than your car!
Give yourself extra room when turning and manoeuvring, particularly in tight spaces.

2️⃣ Watch your height 👀
Car parks, height barriers and low entrances suddenly become much more important!

3️⃣ Use those mirrors 🪞
Your mirrors are your best friend. Check them regularly and take your time when reversing.

4️⃣ Leave more stopping distance
A loaded van can behave differently to the car you’re used to driving.

5️⃣ Don’t rush!
Take your time, plan your route and get comfortable with the vehicle before heading off.

And remember — there’s no such thing as a silly question.

If it’s your first time hiring or driving a van, just tell us. We’re always happy to help get you comfortable before you leave. 👍

😂 “WE’LL GET IT ALL IN ONE TRIP…”

Famous. Last. Words.

The sofa’s on the roof, the washing machine’s in the passenger seat and Dave’s somehow holding a lamp out the window. 🛋️🪴😂

There is an easier way…

🚚 Hire the van. Save the arguments.

And if you’re moving house, we’ve got the boxes, bubble wrap, tape and garment carriers sorted too. 📦

Basically, bring the house move. We’ll bring the sensible solution. 😂
