🔧 A different kind of week at Eddzo’s Autobarn…

This week we actually booked time out of the diary to give our own cars some much-needed attention after years of neglect 😅

First up was Wesley — our 2008 Audi C6 A6 3.0 TDI. After living with timing chain rattle for the last 4 years, it was finally time to bite the bullet and get the chains replaced 👊

Honestly, we’re amazed this thing never gave up. At 170k miles, it still pulls like a train and keeps up with much newer cars — a true testament to Audi’s solid engineering.

While the engine was out, we replaced a number of other worn parts to keep Wesley going strong for many more miles ahead 🔧

And next on the operating table…

Workshop update… but not the usual kind 🐾

Molly Dog had to go in for surgery today, and safe to say the workshop isn’t quite the same without her running the place 😅

She’s doing well and resting up now ❤️

We’ll have her back on security duty and customer greetings in no time.

Thanks to everyone who always gives her a fuss when you come in — she’ll be back soon 🐶👊

This Audi A4 came in for a full round of maintenance to keep it running exactly as it should:

✅ Full service
✅ Brake fluid change
✅ Rear parking sensor replacement
✅ Air conditioning service
✅ Rear brake discs & pads
✅ Timing belt kit
✅ Auxiliary belt
✅ Water pump

All carried out using quality parts and proper procedures, keeping this A4 in top condition for many more miles ahead 👊

(And of course… a hairy mug made an appearance somewhere along the way ☕😆)

🔧 Busy week at Eddzo’s Autobarn!

This 62-plate VW Transporter came in needing an EGR cooler replacement — and if you know, you know… it’s buried deep in the engine bay 😅

👉 Full front-end off job
👉 Hours of careful strip down
👉 Cooler replaced and rebuilt properly

Many hours later… job’s a good’un 👊

💡 What does an EGR valve actually do?

The EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve helps reduce emissions by recirculating a portion of exhaust gases back into the engine.

Why?
It lowers combustion temperatures, which reduces harmful NOx emissions and keeps the engine running cleaner.

When the EGR system or cooler fails, you can get:
❌ Coolant loss
❌ Rough running
❌ Engine management lights
❌ Poor performance

That’s why it’s important to get it sorted properly — not just patched up.

We mainly specialise in VWAG vehicles, but this 22-plate Ford Transit came in for some essential wet belt maintenance at the 80,000-mile mark — and we got it turned around in just 6 hours 👊

The full job was completed using genuine Ford parts only, ensuring reliability and peace of mind for the customer.
