Swansea Curry Club made its debut last night, and what an evening it was.

The food, the setting, the people and the energy around the table were incredible. Every Curry Club table is different, but there’s always something special about the atmosphere when you bring good people together from different corners of the industry.

One of the best things about getting together outside our businesses is the chance to see beyond the job titles and the brands. Around the table were people representing some huge names across automotive, insurance and transport, including Sytner MINI , Kwik Fit, Aviva Insurance, Able Windscreens, Elite Signs & Graphics and SMART Bodyshop Solutions.

But it was hearing about the people behind those brands that made the evening. Hearing about what these businesses and their teams are doing behind the scenes, particularly within their communities, was genuinely impressive and heartwarming.

A huge thank you to Sytner MINI Swansea for sponsoring the entire evening and helping us bring Curry Club to Swansea for the first time.

And Rasoi Waterfront was the perfect setting, with a beautiful private room, fantastic food and brilliant service.

Getting outside of our own businesses and sitting around a table with people from different parts of the industry creates conversations that simply don’t happen in the usual working day.

What a morning for Together for Teddy 💛⛰️

A huge thank you to everyone who came along on Sunday morning to take on Pen y Fan and support such an incredible cause.

A massive thank you to Kwik Fit who turned up with an army of 21 people. It was incredible to see so many of their team make time on their weekend to come along and support Teddy and his family. A real credit to Richard, Craig, Paul and the team and the people within it.

Our Able Windscreens team, Gemma, Wayne and Dean, were proud to take on the climb too, alongside One to One Logistics, and Ian, who travelled all the way down from Bristol to climb our Welsh mountain with us on a fresh Sunday morning.

And of course, a huge thank you to all the family and friends who joined us and gave up part of their weekend to support the cause.

We couldn’t have asked for a better day. Beautiful views, plenty of laughs, great vibes and just a little bit windy at the top! 😂

More than anything, it was the community spirit that made the morning. Businesses, colleagues, friends and families all coming together for one reason: Together for Teddy. 💛

🥾 Just about to set off up Pen y Fan for Teddy 💙

This morning, a group of us from the motor industry are coming together to climb Pen y Fan and raise money for Teddy and his family.

Thanks to the amazing support they’ve received, the family have now reached their original fundraising target. But in true Welsh community spirit, we’re not stopping there.

We want to continue raising funds to help support the family with everything they may need throughout Teddy’s journey.

It turns out curry is pretty good fuel for conversation…

A huge thank you to Kwik Fit for supporting last night and helping us bring such a brilliant group of people together.

We welcomed senior leaders from across the automotive industry—some living just a stone’s throw from 1988 Indian Restaurant in Penarth, while others travelled nearly three hours from England to join us for a curry.

I think that says a lot about what Curry Club is becoming.

Around one table, our team at Able Windscreens were joined by senior leaders from Kwik Fit, Aston Martin Lagonda, Admiral Group, Autotech Group, Centregreat, Mon Motors Volvo, GSF Car Parts bringing experience from vehicle manufacturing, insurance and claims, fleet operations, infrastructure, dealerships, automotive parts, glass, fast-fit services and automotive recruitment.

The conversations went from completely random old-school stories to a fascinating discussion about AI—how quickly it is evolving, the possibilities it could unlock and how it may reshape the automotive industry in the years ahead.

With so many different areas of the industry represented, we heard perspectives and insights that we simply wouldn’t be exposed to while sitting within the four walls of our own businesses. That’s where the really interesting conversations happen.

Curry Club might have started with a simple idea, but it has become so much more than a curry.
It’s a space for some of the industry’s most experienced and interesting people to switch off, speak openly and enjoy being around the table together.

Thank you to everyone who travelled and made the evening what it was. Last night was a cracking one.

Next stop… Swansea!
