The AC Ace is a classic British two-seater sports car built by AC Cars in Thames Ditton, England, from 1953 to 1963. The Ace won its 2.0-litre GT class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1957 and 1958, and saw extensive SCCA racing success in the United States. This led American driver Carroll Shelby to approach AC to fit a Ford V8 engine into the Ace chassis. This collaboration led directly to the creation of the iconic AC Shelby Cobra.

When released in the 1960s, the classic Jaguar S-Type failed to gain the same popularity as previous models. This was despite some notable design improvements such as the independent rear suspension (IRS), borrowed and adapted from the E-Type, giving the S-Type a smooth "magic carpet ride" and much better cornering grip than the Mark 2. Looking back, the S-Type was something special.
