The TORCH Classic started out looking ominous with the weather, but as soon as Grant Fribbens got his shorts out, the sun started to shine. He was joined by his better half who generously plied us with tea n coffee first thing, not to mention bbq'd hotdogs in the afternoon, and cake of course, a 40th Anniversary cake no less.

Stumpy Taylory was true to form when a camera was pointed his way, and we drove old RC cars and had a r**t laff as they say up North.

Then it was a group photograph to show the embarrassingly low turnout but also a great big "F Y" to those that didn't, and to cut the cake of course.

An old face from the early '00s then showed his face, Kevin Juggins. Looking to start up again, he certainly picked a day in the nick of time.

Then it was a bitter moment as most of us started to dismantle the track we had taken nearly 2 decades to build up.

We saw out the early '00s touring car craze by the skin of our teeth, and we'll see this through too.

Massive Thanks to everyone who turned up for The TORCH Classic, also tripling up as our 40th Anniversary race and our Swansong meeting. You know who you are.

However, lots of disrespect going out to those that basically tucked us up. We clearly don't keep your bread buttered so you didn't bother.

Alas, we made the best of it and had a cracking good laugh, with the sun shining ALL day.

That's it for Torch for now. No more meetings until further notice so keep an eye on the webby or main fb page for up to date news.

Any help you can give in either hard graft or financial donations toward the logistics of moving is massively appreciated. See the fb page and website for details on work parties and the justgiving campaign.
...In the meantime however. Do you have any memories of TORCH in the form of photographs?

If so, we'd love to see you post them here. Whether it's from Poplars, the garden centre, Deans farm or even further back. Get scanning and posting.
