🎉 HAPPY FRIDAY! 🎉

Huge congratulations to “Amazing Grace Greenhow ‘ on passing her driving test today at Sunderland Test Centre at 10:04 — with only a couple of minor blemishes! 😉😂

WELL DONE, GRACE! 🚗💨👏

It’s been an absolute pleasure teaching you, and we’ve had plenty of laughs, questionable moments and probably enough chat to last a lifetime! 😂

Massive thanks to your mam for being an absolute legend/co-pilot in the pink bubble — although I’m not sure who had the harder job! 🤣💗

After some lovely comments from the examiner, I had the pleasure of driving the pink bubble home one last time… although I think it was probably more emotional for me than it was for Grace! 😭😂

Now the important bit…

Drive safe, don’t get too confident, and remember — passing your test doesn’t mean you’re Lewis Hamilton just yet! 🏎️💨🤣

And don’t be a stranger… although being almost neighbours means I’ll probably still see you driving past me anyway! 😎😂

Seriously though, well done Grace. You’ve been an absolute pleasure to teach and you thoroughly deserve it. Enjoy that freedom — you’ve earned it! 🙌

DRIVE SAFE FOR LIFE !!!

Now get out there and enjoy your new licence… just remember where the brakes are! 😂❤️

TEST SWAP PROCEDURE IS CHANGING from 1st OCTOBER 2026 !!!
DVSA SAY,

"We’re changing how learners can swap their driving tests

From 1 October, the process for how learner drivers can swap their driving test is changing.

The change will remove the need for learners to coordinate their availability and will make the process smoother and less stressful.

What's changing

To request a swap, the first learner driver will still need to call DVSA. The second learner will then need to call DVSA on the same working day to confirm they're happy with the swap. Both learners will need to have both driving test booking reference numbers, date time and venue of both tests.
Each learner will also need to have their own booking details: full name, address and postcode, email address, contact number and their driving license number.

We can only process the swap if both learners call DVSA on the same working day.

Previously, both learners needed to be available at the same time to make the swap.

Please make your pupils aware of this change.

Thank you."

🚗 PASSED YOUR TEST?

THIS IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS THE TEST ITSELF

One of my former students was involved in a minor prang last week - just a small scrape. No one hurt thankfully, but they were flustered and didn't get the details right at the scene.

Now the other driver is claiming for repairs for everything including the kitchen sink. A little scrape has turned into a massive headache and an insurance nightmare.

It happens to new drivers. You pass, you're nervous, and the last thing you expect is a bump in the first few months. But PLEASE know what to do:

If it's a minor RTA, stay calm and do this:

1. Stop & Stay Safe
Turn off engine, hazards on. Check if anyone is hurt. If it’s minor and safe, move to the side.

2. Exchange Details - It's The Law
You MUST give and get:
Full name & address
Phone number
Vehicle reg
Insurance details
Name of the owner if it's not you

3. TAKE LOADS OF PHOTOS
This is the one new drivers miss! Before you move anything:
Both cars from all angles
Close-ups of the damage
Number plates
The road, road markings, junctions
Weather & lighting
More photos than you think you need. It’s your proof.

4. DO NOT ADMIT BLAME
I know you want to be polite and say "sorry, it was my fault" - DON'T.
You can be kind and check if everyone is OK, but don't admit liability. It is NOT always you at fault, even if you think it is. Let the insurers decide.

5. Write it down & Tell your insurer
As soon as you get home, write down what happened while it's fresh. Time, place, what you saw. Then call your insurer - even for a tiny bump.

Save this post. Share it with your son, daughter, or anyone who has just passed.

The test is just the start - staying safe and protected is what matters.

Know the rules and above all, take care out there.
