A crease like this doesn’t always mean a new panel and a bigger bill.
This SEAT Ateca came in with damage running across the rear quarter and into the arch lip. We were able to repair the original panel, avoiding the cost of replacing it.
Here’s the work that goes in before the paint:
• Strip back to bare steel to see the damage properly.
• Weld pulling pins along the crease and carefully bring the metal back into shape.
• Apply a guide coat and sand back to reveal the high and low spots.
• Work the metal until the body line and arch lip are back where they should be.
It takes time to get those shapes right. Doing the metalwork properly means less filler is needed to finish the panel.
Next up: prep and paint. We’ll show you the finished repair soon.
Got a dent you’re worried will need a new panel? Send us a photo and we’ll take a look.
