Please dont drive out tonight if you dont have to. Winds of over 40mph are forecast, which make it difficult to steer and can cause debris to be scattered onto the road. Stay safe.

Sunshine is so very welcome this time of year, but can be shining directly into your driving eyes making it tricky to see ahead. My advice is to always keep a pair of sunglasses in your car and make a mental note of where the sun is so that you can be ready with the visor down as you turn into it. More advice in the article below.

As the evenings draw in, we'll need to use car lights more. Here is a reminder of what lights and when. Its also worth checking all your bulbs are working before the clocks change and rush hour is in darkness on 1st November. Please be aware that other road users may not be as fully prepared as you and so may be difficult to see. Take extra care to look for invisible cyclists and pedestrians. Keep warm and safe.
