MECHANIC REQUIRED – ISLE OF LEWIS

Due to an increase in workload, Fleet-Tech Services Ltd are looking for a full time mechanic.

Workshop based in Marybank, with site work when required.
Work involves maintenance and repair of plant and commercial vehicles.

Experience required. Must be confident diagnosing and repairing faults.

Competitive rate depending on experience. Overtime available.

We were out at Andrew’s V8 today chasing down a wiring fault on the perimeter kit.

The brake and indicator lights were sticking on, which we traced back to two failed relays. While working through the loom we also found a junction box full of water - this was cleaned out, corroded wiring repaired, and the box properly resealed.

A few other lights were out too, so those were replaced while we were there.

A tidy job sorted 🔧💡

A productive Saturday morning!!

We installed van shelving and a workbench that we supplied for a civils & utilities van.
Earlier this week we also fitted a diesel night heater and an inverter to another van 🔥⚡️ - keeping drivers batteries charged and their clothes warm and dry on the job!

And to finish off the morning, Euan was buzzing to see the new workwear arriving 😁

This customers 4x4 MAN wouldn’t select reverse - fault was traced back to the gear selector switch which unfortunately couldn’t be bypassed - a new one was ordered - coming from Germany and was replaced to get the customer back on the road again.
