It’s been a while since I last posted, but that’s not because things have been quiet — work has been non-stop lately, which I’m really thankful for.

There’s been a bit of everything through the workshop recently, from recovery work to timing belts , servicing , internal engine repairs and clutch & flywheel replacements.

From Minis to Range Rovers, it’s fair to say I’ve been kept busy with all sorts.

🚗🔧 A Busy Week Behind the Scenes 🔧🚗

Not many posts over the last week or so — but that’s definitely not due to a lack of work!

Here’s some of what’s been carried out:

✅ Audi A5
• Timing belt and water pump replacement
• Full service completed
• As you can see from the air filter condition, it was well due!

✅ Fiat 500
• Booked in for a serious water leak
• Fault traced to a failed thermostat housing
• Supplied and fitted over the weekend to get the customer back on the road for work Monday

✅ Transit Custom
• Second-hand engine supplied and fitted
• Full service carried out
• Power steering pipe repair
• Rear brake caliper replacement while vehicle was in

✅ Ford Mondeo 2.0 diesel
• Dual mass flywheel, clutch and slave cylinder replacement
• Fan belt and fan belt tensioner replaced

🚗🔧 Something a Little Different This Time 🔧🚗

An accident repair job I wouldn’t normally take on — but for a good customer, I was happy to help.

This 2020 Nissan Navara came in following a road traffic accident with significant damage. The job was completed start to finish, with all work carried out in-house other than painting of new panels and 4-wheel alignment.

Work carried out included:

✅ Full strip down and removal of damaged parts
✅ Thorough inspection of all damage
✅ Replacement of all bent and damaged steering, suspension and drivetrain components
✅ Straightening of bent cab mounts and landing panel
✅ Test fitting of all new panels and headlight prior to paint
✅ Curtain and passenger seat airbag replacement
✅ Airbag ECU reset
✅ Final build with freshly painted panels
✅ Final adjustment and settling of panel gaps
✅ Full service with all filters and fluids replaced before return to customer

A big job, but great to see it completed properly and back on the road.

A few timing belt replacement jobs completed recently helping keep customers’ vehicles reliable and on the road:

✅ Ford Focus 1.5 diesel
• Timing belt and water pump replacement
• Additional suspension and steering ball joints identified during inspection , addressed and replaced while vehicle in the workshop

✅ 2016 Audi A4 Avant 2.0 diesel
• Timing belt and water pump replacement
• Full service carried out at the same time

Carried out an after-hours repair last night for a valued customer running a fleet of 10+ vehicles.

✅ 2018 Nissan NV400
• Clutch master cylinder replaced
• Customer-supplied part fitted
• Vehicle ready to go straight back to work this morning

Keeping downtime to a minimum is key for fleet customers.

• Recovered from the roadside after a breakdown
• Fuel pressure issues diagnosed
• Faulty fuel rail pressure switch identified
• Replaced with genuine Ford parts
• Fully tested and fault resolved

✅ 2.0 diesel Audi Q3
• Booked in following reports of heavy smoke
• Fault diagnosed as failed turbo bearing and seals
• Bearing failure caused by lack of servicing
• Turbo replacement carried out
• Full service completed at the same time
