I often get asked "is it worth remapping a standard bike"

Really it varies between bikes, but generally speaking all the latest bikes benefit significantly because they are so held back by the current EU emissions regs.

The 765RS is a perfect example. This 2026 bike is completely standard and conforms to the latest EU5+ regs.
Remapping gave a more linear delivery, smoother & stronger right from the bottom end, with a clear run to the rev limiter. It runs cooler and is far more responsive at low throttle openings.

You can see on the graph how much better that delivery is, and with 10hp more at the top end it will be noticeably quicker.
And that's an honest before/after graph, not one of the bu****it dyno graphs some tuners promote where they give a s**t start figure and a miraculous power gain 🧐👀

With most modern bikes we now remap direct through the diagnostic port so there is no bike dismantling required 😁 which means all of your dyno time is spent on getting your bike running perfect instead of dismantling it to get to the ECU like we do on some older bikes!

Ducati X-Diavel on the dyno for custom ECU mapping for the Arrow decat exhaust system.

The Bosch ECU on these bikes is obscure and quite complex to work with, but very flexible & powerful. Shared with the Multi1260 it even allows features such as camshaft timing adjustment via the VVT system!

This Arrow decat system was far too loud with the dB killers out, offensive and not really usable, but they were too restrictive to gas flow.
I modified them to vastly increase airflow without significantly impacting the noise reduction, then custom mapped the bike on dyno.

Fitting full systems is often a compromise of sound/power/driveability. But with this bike we had no compromise, it picks up cleaner & smoother than a stock bike, makes a more linear torque curve, increased power throughout, and gives that stunning big V-Twin soundtrack 🎶

Ducati V4S in for the full treatment 💪

First we ran the stock bike on dyno for an initial health check and assessment of baseline performance.

Next it was in to the workshop for a full stripdown, fitting the full Akrapovic titanium underseat exhaust system and a few maintenance jobs while it was all apart - saving significant labour cost by rolling the jobs in together.

Finally back to the dyno for a full custom ECU map, with fuelling set up perfectly for the full system 👌

These 'wheelbarrow' systems are undeniably gorgeous 😍 and give the best performance from the range of Akra systems available for these bikes.

The performance unleashed by these systems when mapped properly is huge, the top end can breathe properly and doesn't tail off to the limiter which makes the bike vastly quicker on the track.
A 22hp gain at peak power 13,000rpm, rising to 31hp gain just before the rev limiter at 14,000rpm 🤯😍

We are busier than ever on the dyno, there's just too many bikes to keep posting videos!
But this one was a really nice job and something all DesertX owners should be doing 😁

We ran the bike on dyno to get a baseline performance figure, then removed the original exhaust system/cat and replaced it with an SC Project decat link pipe, paired to the matching SC Project silencer.
By keeping the oem headers and using a dB killer in the silencer, we kept costs & noise down whilst still unleashing performance.

Back on the dyno we custom mapped the obscure Bosch ECU for that exhaust setup and the owners intended usage. A really nice result, smoother delivery with a torque & power gain, a weight saving, and a lovely V-Twin soundtrack 🎶

A lovely 750 bevel Ducati engine finished and ready to go back in the bike 😊
This build took months, with machining work required before rebuilding with 'new' heads & barrels. Nice to get it together.
Also an 848 engine and a Morini 1200 engine both just finished rebuilds.

And we have just taken on another engine builder! A specialist in modern Japanese engines. So now its not just the old Italians we focus on, we'll be able to take on a lot more with new race bikes & refreshes too 💪

We've had this lovely little VFR400 in the workshop and it's grabbed more attention than any of the Panigales parked up!
Definitely one of those bikes where so many people have fond memories of ownership.

This particular bike has done over 60,000km and was due significant servicing & recommission work, with the usual attention required to carburetors etc.

After time in the workshop & dyno it now runs beautifully and pulls from idle right up to 14,000rpm with no flat spots or hesitation 😁🎵💪
