Just a little post about the tyres we sell and how we try to keep our prices fair 🛞
Not only do we sell Matador, a fantastic mid-range tyre made by Continental, we also sell plenty of other top mid-range brands such as Maxxis, Nexen and many more.
And we certainly don’t just sell mid-range tyres!
We fit hundreds of premium branded tyres every month, including Michelin, Pirelli, Bridgestone, Continental, Goodyear and pretty much every other major brand.
We also sell budget tyres — but we’re a little bit fussy about what we put on our shelves.
You WILL find cheaper budget tyres elsewhere. We could buy the absolute cheapest tyres available, but genuinely, we just don’t think some of them are very good.
We’d rather sell you a good-value budget tyre that’s going to last, does the job properly and is something we’re actually happy to recommend.
We had a little mix-up recently which probably sums up the other side of running a business.
A lady rang us after apparently being quoted £25 for a new tyre the previous week. We can only assume the price was misheard somewhere along the way, and we genuinely apologise for the misunderstanding, if she's reading this.
Unfortunately, if we sold that particular tyre for £25, we’d actually LOSE £6.25 on it. And that’s before the tax man and the VAT man take their cut — Just like every other legitimate business, these things have to be considered before we sell any tyres.
We know profit can sometimes seem like a dirty word these days, but even we have to draw the line somewhere! 😂
All joking aside, we genuinely try to be as competitive as we possibly can, while still offering good tyres and the friendly service our customers expect from us.
And we think our other 'service' prices show that…
🔧 Puncture repairs – £10–£15
🛞 Wheel balancing – £7
🔄 Tyre changeovers – £15–£20
📡 TPMS programming and fitting – £50
Those prices are pretty much the same as they were 15 years ago.
Our fitting charges on new tyres have stayed the same in all that time too.
Our own costs certainly haven't stayed the same for 15 years, but wherever we can keep our prices down, we do.
Whether you want budget, mid-range or premium, we’ll give you the options, give you our advice if you want it, and let you decide what suits you and your budget.
