Throwing it all the way back this Thursday... 📸✨
As we celebrate 100 Years of Sycamore, we're looking back at the locations that have shaped our journey.
Our story in Peterborough began in 1926, when Sycamore established its home on Cowgate. For more than 50 years, the dealership became a familiar landmark in the city, representing some of the world's leading automotive brands.
Growth came quickly, and in 1964 the Sycamore family expanded with the opening of our Stamford dealership. More than 60 years later, that site remains an important part of the business as the home of Selected by Sycamore and our Sycamore Fast Lane Service Centre.
Back in Peterborough, the Cowgate site was extended in 1965 as demand continued to grow. As the business evolved and Peterborough underwent major redevelopment, Sycamore relocated to Glinton, where vehicle sales, aftersales and our Accident Repair Centre operated side by side throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
The next chapter saw the opening of our purpose-built dealership on Papyrus Road, Werrington, creating the modern home of Sycamore BMW & MINI that customers know today. With sales and aftersales moving to Papyrus Road, the Glinton site continued its legacy as Sycamore Bodyshop, a role it proudly fulfils to this day.
From Cowgate to Stamford, Glinton and Papyrus Road, every chapter has been built on the same values of exceptional customer service, innovation and community.
A century later, we're proud of our heritage, grateful to everyone who's been part of our story, and excited for the next 100 years.
