Choosing the right installer matters as much as choosing the right security system.

TASSA stands for the Tracking and Aftermarket Security System Association. It checks installation companies, individual installers and security products against its requirements.

What does this mean for you?

✅ Checked and trained installers
Registration includes evidence of relevant training and installer DBS checks—giving you greater confidence in who is working on your vehicle.

✅ Insurance and accountability
Installation companies must provide evidence of liability insurance and are responsible for their installers’ workmanship.

✅ Defined installation standards
TASSA-verified products must be fitted in accordance with the relevant requirements, including protecting the confidentiality of the installation.

✅ A recorded installation
Installations of TASSA-verified products must be entered on the TASSA database, creating a record that can be checked.

🚘 What can a StarLine system do?

Depending on the model and vehicle, StarLine can combine driver authorisation, an alarm, immobilisation and connected features in one security system.

🔐 Driver authorisation: Some setups can check for an authorised tag or smartphone, or require a PIN entered using the vehicle’s buttons. This can add a layer of protection alongside the factory key.

🛑 Digital immobilisation: On compatible vehicles, StarLine can use the vehicle’s CAN or LIN network to prevent the engine from starting without the correct authorisation. The installation can be discreet, with no obvious extra switch.

📳 Sensors and alerts: Depending on the system and configuration, sensors can detect impacts, movement or tilting. If the alarm is triggered, the system may sound an alert and send a notification through the app when connected.

📍 Connected features: Selected models can offer GPS/GNSS location tracking, vehicle status and remote controls through the StarLine app. Some models also support functions such as remote start or anti-hijack protection, where compatible and configured.
