With the clocks going back on Sunday 25th October, those evening commutes are about to get a whole lot darker.

So now is a good time to make sure your car is ready

💡 Headlights– Are they both working properly? Dim, damaged or faulty headlights can seriously affect your visibility.

🛑 Brake lights – Make sure drivers behind you can clearly see when you're slowing down.

🚦 Indicators– Check they're all working so other road users know where you're heading!

🌧️ Windscreen wipers – If they're smearing, squeaking or leaving streaks, it might be time for replacements.

🧽 Clean windows– Dirt, condensation and greasy windscreens can make glare from oncoming headlights even worse.

🚗💙 WE'VE BEEN HERE FOR OVER 50 YEARS… BUT HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN COMING TO US?

The Garage has been keeping Eccleshall moving for over half a century, and in that time we've seen plenty of cars, plenty of changes and probably a few questionable hairstyles along the way

But one thing that's always made this garage special is YOU , our customers and local community.

Some of you have been bringing your cars to us for years, some have followed in your parents' footsteps, and others have only recently discovered us.

YOUR BRAKES SHOULDN'T BE MAKING THEIR OWN SOUNDTRACK

If your brakes are making more noise than your morning radio, it might be time to get them checked

With wetter roads, colder mornings and autumn well underway, making sure your brakes are in good condition is more important than ever.

So, what warning signs should you be looking (or listening!) out for?

🔊 Squealing or squeaking – Could be a sign your brake pads are wearing down.

⚙️ Grinding noises – This could mean your brake pads are severely worn, potentially damaging your brake discs.

🚗 Vibrations when braking– Could indicate an issue with your brake discs or other braking components.

🛑 A change in how your brake pedal feels – If it feels unusually soft, spongy or harder than normal, something may not be right.

⚠️ Taking longer to stop – Definitely not something to ignore

Why shouldn't you leave it?

What starts as a relatively simple brake pad replacement could turn into a much more expensive repair if worn components are left unchecked.

Every trip to the petrol station seems to hurt the wallet a little bit more at the moment… 💸

So we want to know are rising fuel prices actually changing the way you drive?
