Taking charge of your learning is the best possible approach to success - we had plenty of both as we always discussed the areas that needed work and with your practical and keen sense of the need to ‘get it right’ it worked like a dream 😌 I did have to mention a few times your unconventional position of your hand whilst changing gear, however, it was in no way a hindrance in selecting the correct gear every time, but I wasn’t sure if you’d experience cramp - I did just watching you 😅 this became less pronounced as lessons progressed and you settled into a position that was right for you, maintaining that ever-important control 😁

Lowri, you have excelled in lessons, very closely followed by the conversation, always asking how my week was and always followed by a similar answer 🥱 I’m surprised you kept asking 🤣

A calm and comfortable introduction by the examiner set the scene for a very successful 1st time pass with only 4 faults helped greatly by your intelligent ‘reading of the road’ 😁

Congratulations Lowri on a lovely drive today and an even better journey throughout our lessons ☺️
Best wishes for the future and safe driving 🚗

We were both made to wait for the outcome of your test Emily Ball, a technical hitch with the examiners iPad created such a stress-induced ‘aura’ it was almost tangible, you were making every situation into a fail and I was thinking “how on earth am I going to defrost the chicken in time for tea 🤣 (no of course I wasn’t 🙄)!! After what seemed like an eternity we heard “I am pleased to tell you, you have passed” in a very soft voice followed by a smile 😁 then we were waiting again for the debrief which didn’t come - was there another technical hitch? 🤷‍♀️ what we did hear was “that was a really lovely drive with no faults recorded” 🤩

Your skill behind the wheel certainly deserved this outcome, but to perform THAT well whilst being observed is absolutely stunning Emily 🤩 this was helped greatly by the calm and considerate atmosphere in car, and the knowledge that, after asking how you were feeling, and you replying “a little nervous”, you could pull up for a few minutes if necessary, any time throughout your test - it’s the little things ☺️

What a great journey through to test, always kind and considerate, with the quiet determination to succeed and what a way to do it 💪

Best wishes for the future Emily and safe driving 🚗

We started lessons with high energy chat, finished lessons with an even higher chat rate and had some very decent driving inbetween 😅 routines were maintained with the planning and awareness that manifested in extremely smooth braking and I only know this because you told me so 🤣🤣 I also know every single word your mum said to you during private practice for each particular scenario and your exact reply………….🙄 words are not needed 😆 the examiner had the pleasure of your running commentary, and struggled to get a word in edgeways during the debrief 🤣 this clearly worked wonders after coming away with a 1st time pass and only 4 faults Izzy Rogers 🎉

I really have enjoyed lessons, honestly (😆) you worked on the areas which had been highlighted in lessons and came back even stronger and more prepared, making for a very smooth progression to become test ready 💪

Congratulations on a great drive today Izzy, best wishes for the future and safe driving 🚗

That was the biggest sigh of relief and your disbelief that you had actually passed Daisy Holmes, sums up our journey through to this point 😅 it was always there but your head was telling you otherwise and there were times that my twitching resembled a rather poor breakdancer and other times when we were ‘Driving Miss Daisy’ waving to every tractor that overtook us 🤣 that was then……………this is now and the examiner congratulated you on a very good drive and having the pleasure of being a part of your road trip around Boston, I felt safe and cushioned by your silky touch on the pedals, making for a very comfortable drive 😌

It really has been a pleasure Daisy because of your very empathetic persona and always ready with a humorous quip which just enhances the mix - perfect 😊

Very best wishes for the future and safe driving 🚗

No shaky legs or butterflies, just a calm belief that you could do this Lewis Coupland 😅 of course a little tension was present, hence the chewing gum to stop your tongue sticking to the roof of your mouth 😬 it clearly worked a treat because your 1st time pass with only 3 faults was tantamount to your commitment to learning, asking questions to enhance your understanding and taking time to consolidate which made our journey extremely pleasurable 😁

A little chat with the examiner helped relax the atmosphere on test and your engineering course certainly struck a chord 😊 your question “how hesitant do you have to be to gain a serious fault?” begged the thought “how long is a piece of string?” 🤣 clearly the examiner judged your whole drive and came to the conclusion that the piece of string is ‘long enough’ 😆

Congratulations on a great drive Lewis, best wishes for the future and safe driving🚗

One of my pupils performed a perfect parallel park today but held up a bus in the process. Once the pupil had secured the car the bus driver then proceeded to continue their journey but pulled up alongside and my initial reaction was “oh no, I’m ready for a certain amount of abuse 😫” the bus driver gave a ‘hats off to you’ gesture before she continued her journey with her passengers…………….there are some very decent people out there 😅 just thought it was worth a post, it made my day 🙏

What a lesson in maturity, taking the knocks and learning from them whilst maintaining composure, discretion and confidence in your ability 💪 we turned up for our first test in the snow, having tonsillitis but had the mindset that a job had to be done and you were always going to do it……………..unfortunately this wasn’t possible due to the all important risk assessment in conditions that cemented the decision 😅

Today was a different story with no tonsillitis in sight with the thought process being open to the outcome which would be dealt with accordingly 😁 well, Maddie Smith you passed 1st time in a manual and private practice in an auto - I’d call that being extremely adaptive which is why you were successful today and dealt with each scenario as they arose 😊 the test scenario really doesn’t produce the best of drives and this was highlighted when emerging a little too slowly in a safe gap, and I had hoped you would’ve heard the “don’t let them catch you” phrase that had been uttered on a few occasions 😅 you assured me this wouldn’t happen in your car 😆

Congratulations Maddie on extremely pleasurable lessons and a great drive using your open mindedness, creating the ability to deal with certain situations instinctively 🙏 very best wishes for the future and safe driving 🚗

Look at that snow Layla Holland and you dealt with the unknown (apart from the very brief drive to Boston) and the uncertainty of whether your test would go ahead, with a decision being made 10mins before your test 😨 you maintained your smile and sense of humour in spite of the above and even breezed through your test with a first time pass gaining just 3 faults 👌you just had to maintain conversation in order to prevent you thinking about the faults, of which you’d counted far too many and decided you had failed 3 times over 😅

You haven’t found this easy by any means, but your determination, ability to understand the consequences of any serious faults and the keenness to make sure it was dealt with succinctly, together with the complete understanding of our thought processes regarding life in general (namely dealing with the general public 🙄) just enhanced our learning immensely 😆

Very very well done today Layla, best wishes for the future and safe driving 🚗

Wow, just wow Lily Sauntson, you have a very mature head on those shoulders and I have to take my hat off to you for an incredible drive today on the dreadfully uneven roads, after which you had to check the front of the car to make sure you hadn’t caused any damage ☺️ and the 2 most difficult roundabouts, which you breezed through with unerring ease, remembering that it’s acceptable to cut the paint if it’s in the interests of road safety - you did just that and it was a lesson for many that it really isn’t necessary to ignore the paint completely making judgement of a safe gap almost impossible 🙄

You set the examiners mood for their next test to ‘positive’, succinctly mirroring our driving experience 🙏

‘If a job is worth doing, it’s worth doing well’ of which, you are the epitome and I would say a first time pass with only 2 faults is the proof 🤩

Very well done Lily, always kind and considerate and now you are reaping the rewards. Best wishes for the future and safe driving 🚗

Macy Howitt, that is how it’s done, a first time pass with only 3 faults ☺️ we have had a journey, not just to Boston and back 🤣 and you have proved your resilience over and over again, facing many challenges and still coming out the other side with a remarkable drive today, echoed by the examiner’s remarks “that was a very very good productive drive, making progress when necessary and being aware of slowing down to a speed that you could stop in the distance you can see to be clear” if only the examiner’s head wasn’t in the way when observing at junctions 🤦‍♀️ but always dealt with instinctively 🤩

Macy, you truly deserve to be a full licence holder, moreso because you do think how your actions are going to affect other road users, You just need to believe it 🙏

Very, very well done today Macy, a trip to the Spar for a bottle of water pre test clearly helped, time being the only constraint and after wringing my shirt out everything ran smoothly (🤣) - one less thing to worry about 😅

Very best wishes for the future Macy, hope to see you wowing the crowds strumming your guitar and, of course, safe driving 🚗

What a blast that was Jess Bird and I wasn’t referring to your turn of speed past the hospital 😅 only 18hrs of tuition resulting in a first time pass with only 3 faults 😱 there was a little ‘umming and ahhing’ and deliberation assessing your ‘slightly faster than the limit’ but the outcome was in your favour owing to a superbly confident drive and judging that you fully deserved to be allowed to roam independently and free ☺️

We struggled to fit lessons in your very busy week, often only just getting back in time for your lesson after mucking out your horse, fortunately having time to get changed first 🤣🤣 you have had the utmost focus and lessons have been extremely enjoyable, always keen to add to our conversations discreetly and politely 😁

Very best wishes for the future Jess and safe driving 🚗
