🧗‍♂️ Andy Smith Service & Bodyshop Operations Manager at Adams Morey Portsmouth, Takes the Leap for Cash for Kids

Andy Smith is stepping over the edge, literally as he abseils down Portsmouth’s iconic Spinnaker Tower to raise funds for Cash for Kids, supporting disadvantaged children across the South Coast.

Standing more than 100 metres high, the Spinnaker Tower abseil is no small challenge, but Andy is taking it on with one goal in mind:
raising £350 to help local children who need it most.

Cash for Kids provides direct support to young people facing poverty, illness, and hardship ensuring every donation stays local and makes an immediate impact.

Supporting the Channel Islands’ First Fully Electric Tractor Unit Trial ⚡🚛
We’re proud to support our long‑standing customer Ferryspeed as they lead the way with the first fully electric tractor unit trial in the Channel Islands.

Over the next two weeks, Ferryspeed’s Jersey depot will be operating a DAF XD Electric 350 supplied by Adams Morey, giving their team the chance to see how a zero‑emission tractor performs across island operations. The vehicle is equipped with five battery packs and offers a range of 150–300 miles, depending on specification and load a major step forward in sustainable heavy‑vehicle capability.

We’re also pleased to be working alongside Ferryspeed and representatives from the Government of Jersey’s Driver and Vehicle Standards team, supporting their assessment of the vehicle from a safety and operational perspective.

If the trial proves successful, this technology could play a key role in helping Ferryspeed reduce emissions across both Jersey and Guernsey and we’re proud to be part of that journey.

Adams Morey were proud to attend the Royal Cornwall Show 2026, joining forces with the DAF Trucks UK team to showcase a standout line‑up of customer vehicles and the latest New Generation DAF models.

Across Thursday and Friday, our stand welcomed thousands of visitors exploring the very best in transport innovation, fleet solutions and aftersales support.

Unfortunately, Saturday’s final day was cancelled due to severe overnight weather and a Met Office yellow wind warning a difficult but necessary decision to ensure everyone’s safety.

Beyond our stand, the Show delivered an impressive programme including the JCB Dancing Diggers, the Shetland Pony Grand National, livestock championships, live music, and a farewell to long‑serving Show Secretary Chris Riddle.

With over 117,000 visitors attending across the first two days, the event remains a major highlight for the region and planning has already begun for the 2027 Show, where we look forward to returning even stronger.
