At the end of May we lost one of our founders, my father, Clarence Keith Sinclair. We were and still are Triumph and Rover men. At Icon Classic Car we continue to do our best to preserve these British automotive icons and make them available for others to enjoy. The Persian Aqua Blue Rover SD1 V8-S is the next to be recommissioned which with Peter Thurston’s help we will achieve this year and do so in my father’s memory. So no pressure there….

Rover SD1 VdP Efi reaches milestone with “new” wood veneers and new headlining fitted and fresh “genuine” MOT (unlike last years). Thanks to suppliers GDK Veneers and Aldridge Trimming and most importantly SD1 Specialists Ken and Tim Clarke. Work progresses with replacement nivomat on rear, front bumper adjustment and resolution of some electrical gremlins… We should have a truly outstanding example of the marque very shortly. Watch this space

The wait is nearly over. Our Rover SD1 Vanden Plas Efi is nearing completion/ recommissioning after a 22 year hiatus. Complete with it’s John Eales (JE Developments) rebuilt Rover V8 (developing just over 200bhp on the dyno) with Vitesse underpinnings, Speedline 15 inch alloys, Vanden Plas luxury including aircon and cruise control. Project Noah coming along nicely. Badly corroded headlight retaining rings cut off and replaced with new. Lashings of Lanoguard sprayed behind the headlight aperture and a little on the modular wheel too after fitting new wheel nuts.
