Our engineer Simon talks us through a Volvo Penta UK specific tool designed for removing the pivot pins on stern drives.

It might look simple, but specialist tools like this allow our engineers to carry out work correctly and efficiently without risking unnecessary damage to components.

After experiencing an electrical issue with their Volvo Penta UK system, this customer turned to Golden Arrow Marine for assistance.
Simon carried out the fault diagnosis before returning with Jack to fit the replacement parts. Behind the scenes, Lyndsey ensured everything was coordinated smoothly and the customer was kept informed throughout.

Not your average sea trial… 🇬🇧➡️🇩🇪

One of our Golden Arrow Marine engineers was recently called in to diagnose an intermittent fault on a Volvo Penta UK IPS hybrid system.
With the fault only presenting itself under certain conditions, a sea trial was required to properly diagnose the issue. There was just one catch, the vessel needed to be in Germany the following day.

So, a sea trial to Germany it was. 🌊🔧

A great example of the lengths our engineers will go to get to the bottom of a problem, combining hands-on diagnostics, technical knowledge and real-world testing on a complex hybrid propulsion system.

Commercial fishing operators in England can now apply for Fisheries and Seafood Scheme (FaSS) support towards eligible engine and gearbox upgrades.

For qualifying projects, the maximum grant contribution can be:
• Up to 65% for petrol or diesel engines and gearboxes on Small Scale Coastal Fleet vessels

• Up to 50% for petrol or diesel engines and gearboxes on other eligible fishing vessels

• Up to 90% for eligible electric or hybrid engines

For example, on £40,000 of eligible repower costs, an SSCF vessel could potentially receive up to £26,000 in grant support, subject to eligibility and MMO approval.

Golden Arrow Marine can support operators considering an engine, outboard, gearbox or propulsion upgrade, with options available from leading marine brands including Volvo Penta, MAN , John Deere, Perkins Engines, Steyr Motors, Yamaha Motor, Ltd., ZF Group and RAD Propulsion
