It was worth the early start to be able to say “congratulations” to my fabulous student Violet.

This morning Violet became a full licence holder by passing her driving test with only 1 little driving fault, an excellent result!

You’ve been a pleasure to get to know Violet, don’t forget to give me a wave when you drive past in your own car.

Today set2pass is saying “Congratulations” to my fabulous student Elissa.

Elissa passed her driving test this morning on her first attempt with only 1 little driving fault in my automatic training car.

This is a fantastic achievement, the driving fault was for correcting the parallel park (Elissa’s least favourite manoeuvre) other than that it was a flawless drive.

🐾 Maddie accompanied us to the test centre today bringing with her a calming pre test distraction and her usual good luck for the test.

Congratulations again Elissa, you’ve been a pleasure to get to know and you can now enjoy the independence and freedom of being a full licence holder.

What a fantastic way to start the week!!

☀️ On this gorgeous sunny day set2pass is saying massive congratulations to my fabulous student Olivia.

Not only did Olivia pass her driving test on her 1st attempt she only went and passed with a clean sheet, 0 driving faults so the perfect drive.

This is an amazing achievement, especially as Olivia was a bag of nerves before and during the test.

🐾 Maddie accompanied us to the test centre today bringing her usual good luck to my students.

Congratulations again Olivia, you’ve been a pleasure to teach how to drive, enjoy test driving cars 🚘

Police managed to catch 28 speeding motorists within just 1 hour and 106 tickets within 4 hours in a separate sessions on different roads.

Not only did Olivia pass her driving test on her first attempt, she passsd with only 3 little driving faults which is a fantastic achievement.
It was a privilege to be able to sit in the back of the car and witness Olivia drive competently (although she may not have felt 100% confident) throughout her test.
Congratulations again Olivia, you’ve been a pleasure to get to know and I’m sure you’ll have fun test driving cars.

NEWS FROM THE DVSA

Driving test short notice cancellation period to change on 8 April 2025.

When we published our 7-point plan to reduce driving test waiting times on 18 December 2024, we confirmed that one of the actions would be to increase the short notice cancellation period.

We are increasing the short notice cancellation period for car driving tests from 3 clear working days to 10 clear working days. We intend to introduce this change on Tuesday 8 April 2025.

To do this, we need to change legislation. This process was started today (Monday 17 March 2025) when a Statutory Instrument was laid before Parliament to change the rules. If Parliament approves the change, it will come into force from 8 April 2025.

This change only applies to car driving tests.

Telling your pupils about the change
We’re emailing everyone with a car driving test booking to tell them what their new deadline to change or cancel without losing the fee will be. Theses emails are being sent today.

Please make sure that your pupils know about the change when you have your next lesson with them.

When emerging from a T junction keep looking to the left and right so you don’t miss a safe gap between vehicles when joining the traffic on the main road, never get distracted by the Spitfire trundling along the runway in front of you!

Today set2pass is saying congratulations to Isaac and his driving instructor Sean for a lovely first attempt pass at Lee-on-the-Solent.
Isaac passed with only a few little driving faults which is a fantastic achievement.

What a fantastic way to begin the week, on this glorious sunny day set2pass is saying congratulations to Alex.
Not only did Alex pass his driving test on his first attempt he passed with only one little driving fault, an excellent result!
I had the pleasure of sitting in the back of the car watching Alex drive confidently throughout the test.
That’s now both Alex and his brother Charlie passed on their first attempt and I’m sure a relief there’s no more driving lessons to pay for!

What better way to spend your last driving lesson of the day than teaching a very new student clutch control.
Whether doing hill starts from the side of the road or in a car park learning bay parking, this will help your student understand how to use the clutch and how the clutch controls your speed (and how reverse bay parking is easier and safer!)
You made excellent progress today Mollie and your reverse bay parking was spot on!

Today set2pass is saying a massive congratulations to Harriet for passing her driving test on her first attempt with driving instructor Sean.
Not only did Harriet pass but she also passed with a clean sheet, 0 driver faults so the prefect drive! (Sean clearly takes after his mum with his attention to detail and driving standards 😉)
This wasn’t Harriet’s first trip to the test centre but luckily was her last. After an unsuccessful test Harriet gave up driving for a few years until she met Sean.
Harriet came to Sean for an intensive course to help build her confidence, ability and to bring her up to test standard.
What a fantastic achievement for both Harriet and Sean.
Enjoy your new found independence Harriet, safe driving.
