Diagnosis? Crushed wire for number plate light some how, just need to run a new wire and this will be ready for sale!

Hope you’re sat down this is a long one

No drive condition BMW X1, clutch overheated warning on dash

BMW recovered to us from the main dealer, dealership advised replacement gearbox was required = ££££

Ran our own diagnostics, found lots of under voltage fault codes, battery charging at 15v, worn out battery? No new Bosch battery previously fitted but not coded, coded battery, voltage fault codes now gone.

Found transmission fault codes for clutch 1 & 2 overheated and oil cooler pump stopped unexpectedly.

Customer advised transmission oil has been recently (ish) replaced, suspect diagnostics was not used to correct clutch wear / various adaptions.

Attempted to adapt transmission, no dice still the same.
Dived deeper, found oil cooler pump seized, temporarily unseized pump, refilled with oil, we now have drive!

Brand new genuine oil cooler pump & motor kit fitted at a fraction of the price of a whole gearbox.

Adaptions carried out, road tested for 10+ miles, no fault codes, drives beautifully.

One very happy customer!! 🥳

We were quite looking forward to this one!

2014 mk7 Golf in need of clutches, brought to JMC via recovery due to being unable to select reverse & forward gear changes being notchy.

Ran diagnostics and found fault codes indicating the clutches have overheated/worn out.

Gearbox removed, removed clutch pack & associated parts. Re-fitted with genuine spec LUK parts, pre-loaded clutches to manufacture specifications, road test adaption carried out.

This lovely little golf is ready to go back to its owner!

Rubbish at this social media lark. Been a mixed bag again recently!

First slide was a diagnosing fume smell and intermittent limp mode on a Volvo V90, found EGR pipe around the back of the engine cracked, new genuine reinforced pipe fitted, this customer will be confident towing their caravan once again!

Second slide is from a Mercedes W208 CLK 1.8 Kompressor, exhaust leak looked like a gasket gone but in fact the manifold had cracked. Re-welded joint, all refitted, good to go!

And lastly the well known Ford Transit 2.0 eco blue wet timing belt replacement with all new genuine parts

We’ve been putting this off for a while now but due to ever increasing costs of, well, everything.

We will be slightly increasing hourly rate from £60 to £67 an hour from the 1st of July.

Some very satisfying work came in this week

•Absolutely MINT Land Cruiser for some new headlight units
•S5 for some very spicy Eibach coilovers to be fitted with new Bilstein top mounts
•Finally an L200 for a brand new cylinder head along with all the appropriate replacement parts like a new timing belt etc
