It’s Steve’s last week with us here at Coast. It’s an emotional one and he has been working on the R&D Syncro. His legacy will live on every time we look at the straight lines of this once abused T3 Syncro. Can’t wait to see it all done!!

Well, the T3 Sinka work truck is now MOT-ready, all booked in for this week, and it’s looking epic. It’s come a long way from how it arrived at the workshop, complete opposite, in fact. It turned up lowered with a blue patina finish, and now it’s been completely transformed. What do you think of its new colour? 🙌🏼

The T3 Cheetah is on the ramp for a full inspection, and we’ve got the engine running so we can carry out a thorough check. Once this has been completed, the owner will have a clear understanding of which areas need attention and which should be prioritised.

Well, that’s the FB Syncro conversion finished! After plenty of test miles, we can honestly say we absolutely loved this van. We’ve known it for a while, and the transformation has been incredible. The engine conversion, combined with the disc brake upgrade, has made it an absolute pleasure to drive.

This classic now keeps up effortlessly with modern traffic and stops just as confidently too. Now it’s off to Portugal to start its next chapter and live its best life. It’s got one long drive ahead, but what an epic journey that will be!

Work continues on the 14” Syncro Doka as we cut out old bodged repairs, poor previous work, and rot. It’s hard graft, but every step is worth it to bring it back the right way.

Really nice and clean Syncro in after being recovered. A small pinhole in the clutch pipe put a stop to going anywhere, so a new front-to-back clutch pipe was fitted to get it going again. Really clean Syncro and a top owner with big trip plans ahead.

Well, that’s another Syncro saved. The front chassis leg areas, particularly where the subframe mounts, are a common problem. The multi-layered sections tend to corrode from the inside out, causing the metal to bulge and eventually split. This one needed a full metalwork overhaul in those areas, along with repairs to the lower B-pillars and one trailing arm mounting area. Now it’s all solid once again and back on the road with a fresh MOT.

Well, being egg yolk yellow, the saying “you’ve got to break a few eggs to make an omelette” seems pretty fitting. This hardworking Doka has finally been put into retirement... but don’t worry, this isn’t the end. It’s simply going in for the automotive equivalent of a knee and hip replacement, along with a full-body makeover, to prove this old dog still has plenty of life left in it.

We seem to have hit a run of Syncro Doka restorations, with two currently undergoing major metalwork as we speak. We can’t wait to show you the progress.

The T3 single cab is really coming together now. The engine is in and running, and both the interior and exterior are coming together nicely. We’ve also had a great delivery of some new shoes for the beast, finishing off the look perfectly. Not long now until the MOT, road testing, and finally handover.

Customer collection day! We’ve completed all of the work requested following our in-depth survey, and now it’s back over to the owner to finish off the interior, ready for his planned trip. This is one awesome adventure rig in the making, especially now that the rear diff lock is fully operational. We can’t wait to see it out on the road!
