🎉 HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY, DAN! 🎉

Today we’re celebrating a pretty big milestone for our Director, Dan — 50 years young! 🥳

After celebrating his 49th in style last year — so much style, in fact, that he didn’t quite make it into work until 3pm the following day! 🍻 — we’re expecting the 50th to be equally memorable!

He’ll be celebrating properly on Saturday with friends and family, and we’re sure there’ll be one or two drinks… although knowing Dan, probably one too many! 🍻

We're looking for someone who has:

✔️ NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
✔️ At least 5 years' post-qualification workshop experience
✔️ Experience carrying out servicing, repairs and major mechanical work to a high standard
✔️ Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
✔️ Pride in producing quality workmanship
✔️ A positive attitude and willingness to continue learning
✔️ A full UK driving licence

An MOT Tester licence would be an advantage, but it's not essential. If you're the right candidate, we'll support you with the training and qualification to become an MOT Tester.

Experience with BMW, MINI, Jaguar Land Rover or Volkswagen Group vehicles is an advantage but not essential.

This isn't just another workshop job. You'll be working on everything from routine servicing and MOT preparation to engine repairs, timing chains, wet belts, diagnostics, programming and complex technical faults, with the equipment, training and support to do the job properly.

With temperatures set to soar into the mid to high 30s this week, now is the perfect time to make sure your vehicle’s air conditioning is ready for the heat.

At Hedaux Motor Company, we do things differently.

Many air conditioning services simply refill the refrigerant. However that’s only half the job.

✅ Every air conditioning service starts with a nitrogen pressure leak test to check the system is leak-free before any refrigerant is introduced.

This helps us:
🔹 Comply with environmental legislation by avoiding the unnecessary release of refrigerant gases.
🔹 Identify leaks before they leave you with warm air a few weeks later.
🔹 Save you money by preventing repeat visits and wasted refrigerant.

If we find a leak, we’ll advise on the required repairs and carry out all work in-house.

🚫 We will not be carrying out any MOTs or re-tests between 3rd June and 17th June. 🚫

If you think your MOT may be due between now and then, it's worth having a quick check and getting booked in if needed.

💡 Remember, MOTs can be carried out up to 30 days early without affecting your renewal date, so you won't lose any time by having it done in advance.

If you'd like to book in, give the office a call, and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

New MOT Legislation for Electric Vans Over 3.5 Tonnes

The UK Government has confirmed new legislation for zero-emission vans weighing between 3.5t and 4.25t, helping align them more closely with equivalent diesel vehicles. 🚐🔋

📅 The changes come into effect from 1st June 2026.

Key changes include:

✅ 3.5t–4.25t electric vans moving from HGV testing into the standard Class 7 MOT system
✅ First MOT due after 3 years instead of after 1 year
✅ Reduced operational restrictions for electric vans
✅ Easier and more accessible MOT testing for operators and fleet owners

The changes are aimed at removing barriers caused by the additional weight of EV battery systems and supporting the transition to zero-emission commercial vehicles across the UK.

With ramp capabilities of up to 5 tonnes, we are well equipped to carry out this work and continue supporting customers with the latest EV servicing and MOT requirements as legislation evolves. 👨‍🔧⚡
