Track Weapon 💨 but missed some 💨💨💨
Ben's F87 just lacked some straight line go before, even though running our software the car didn't make top numbers, we had tired a few items but nothing changed..... A year and 28 track days later 😳 Ben needed some more power! (Especially with extra Aero!)
After a discussion it was decided that the best option would be our popular WGM Stage 1 baby hybrids, as we know these have a stock ISH turbo response, massive power range and have been over 600HP on quite a few S55's now.
After the turbos were installed we got straight to the Dyno work, where things didn't go to plan! We hit a brick wall at 570-575HP with a power curve that didn't follow our usual expectations. Changing to diagnostic avenues we came up with a plan.
Several items were checked, changed and exhaust camshaft alignment was carried out (as was ticking on cold start up) once the car hit the Dyno with few items resolved, new spark plugs and full tank of Shell V power, no software changes the car went straight to 600HP!
The set up, which again is to favour track maps.
Map 1 - 530HP 475LBFT
Map 2 - 570HP 550LBFT
Map 3 - 605HP 600LBFT
Along with the maps we also have open / closed exhaust flap control via the sports dials. No unplugging the valves needed! Another great feature we can offer on ECUTEK Racerom.
Now the car has the go to match the set up, probably not far from the perfect power / chassis for these for track goers?!
