***NEW HGV TECHNICIAN JOB FOR 2026***

Due to a large rise in both our Fleet and Retail work we are looking to recruit a Qualified HGV Technician.

Summary

We are seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our team at JBS Commercial Workshop. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. Your expertise will be vital in supporting our commitment to high-quality service for both our fleet and customer vehicles. Our workload being fleet based can be fast paced to easy going, with a relaxed atmosphere and a great team to support you.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy goods vehicles (HGVs).
Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
Assemble and disassemble vehicle components as needed.
Utilize electrical systems knowledge to troubleshoot and repair electrical faults.
Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively during repairs.
Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients regarding their vehicles.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with safety standards.
Requirements

Proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role in automotive repair.
HGV Level 3 qualification
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to maintain, assemble, and repair vehicles.
Familiarity with electrical systems related to heavy goods vehicles.
Ability to use power tools and hand tools effectively.
Good communication skills, particularly in customer service interactions.
WORKING HOURS:

45hr Week On Rotating Shifts (with paid breaks)

Week 1 Monday – Friday 6am – 3pm

Week 2 Monday - Friday 1pm - 10pm

Some flexibility during the week to carry out over time as and when maybe required.

£50000 OTE inc Shift allowence & OT, Rates of pay negotiable dependant on experience.

Due to winning several new contracts for both our own fleet and our retail work, we looking for one more qualified technician.

We are a family run business who believe in looking after our employees and providing good services to both our own fleet and our customers' vehicles and trailers. The workshop team are all friendly and helpful so it’s easy to get settled in the new job role.

Pay negotiable dependent on experience (can be discussed at interview), and Overtime paid at time and half.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on both HGV & Trailers

Accurate fault diagnosis using the latest Jaltest diagnostic equipment

Following company processes by completing all relevant paperwork

Completing thorough safety checks and preparing vehicles for MOTs

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

Must hold a NVQ level 3 HGV Repair & Maintenance

Min of 10 Years Experience working with HGV's

LGV C + E license beneficial, not essential
