V1 Logic

V1 Logic V1 uses psychometrics and race simulations, to analyse and develop all the key skills fundamental in consistency, speed and automatic / flow driving.

V1 systems have been designed to evaluate and train all the key conscious and subconscious driving skills, providing a logical development structure for the professional racing driver. During a normal course of evaluation and development, the driver will firstly be evaluated using over 16 psychophysiological and behavioural tests and a race simulation. All the results are benchmarked against our G

ENIUS MODEL, a growing database of over 100 top BRDC, MSA, RFS and current Formula 1 drivers. From the evaluation session data, an initial development programme is formulated and the driver receives logins to our online development tools, which are used for further training and to engage individual elements of autonomic driving i.e. using peripheral vision to reference braking areas automatically (with out thinking). Converting the positive processes to the track can be problematic due to the dramatic differences in the environments. To solve this problem the driver is trained to manage the stress, metabolic and vision systems associated with the real world track performance using our mnemonic structure. We can't reveal how our mnemonic works, but to explain in part; parachutists use "1-1000 2-1000" as a mnemonic to ensure all critical actions are automated. For more examples - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mnemonic

To confirm the positive processes are converted to the race track from training, V1 has also developed a Pi/Cosworth compatible micro camera to monitor development on-track. http://www.youtube.com/user/V1Logic

Do you use breathing exercises to help with stress / mental health / performance etc? We have combined a personalised 4-4-4-4 pattern and an EMDR idea which seems to stabilise my vitals and help me fall asleep. This is the routine if your interested - Close your eyes and breath in for the first count of 4 and whilst breathing in focus your eyes on an imaginary dot that you can bring into your minds eye in the centre of your visual field, to start try and make sure you are using the same focal length as you would if your eyes were open to see the object. You can practice this with your eyes open by holding your finger up placing it at a focal length that feels comfortable (we can do the uncomfortable stuff another time and you can use our race driver development slide qrco.de/FLOJUNKEYvisualfield if it helps), then close your eyes to see if there is any physical movement in your two eye balls as they converge and diverge to focus on the imaginary dot (or afterimage if you struggle with aphantasia*). When you breath out for 4, stop focusing intentionally on the dot and let your imagination / eyes relax and diverge to your maximum peripheral visual field. Again you can practice this with your eyes open by first focusing on a high contrast spot on a wall or using the side, breathing in and out and swapping your vision from the intentionally focused mode to your peripherally orientated vision; close your eyes when you have a rhythm that feels comfortable and aligned with your breathing. The 4-4 holds that are at each end of breathing in and out are more personal and should be, when well practiced, super smooth, comfortable bio mechanically and eventually automatic / synced with your visual attention and movements. I and some drivers have had some almost trippy experiences doing this, (if you no problem seeing magic eye pictures try using that idea also), I would be interested to see if it helps anyone else.

*Notes:
If you are one of the 3% that have aphantasia you should be able to use an afterimage to focus on when you close your eyes. Try and use a small dot to start, I find it helpful to shatter / smear the dot horizontally to help my peripheral vision expand.

I would just like to let everyone know at the weekend V1 partner Josh Vallance won the 2019 WMKC Rotax Championship. He did this with a month to spare and with a very limited budget. So much so he started the season with only one test day, not just at the Whilton Mill track but any track at all and raced half the season on one engine. Anyone that knows karting will have seen how many engines the well funded drivers have, never mind not even having a spare for peace of mind. He is without doubt, the hardest working, most intelligent racer I have had the pleasure to work with. Bring on the 2020 season and special thanks to Msport kart Racing team

Hello all. I've posted a LinkedIn article around vision performance, should be of interest if your a pro, amateur or track-day racer. Info applies to driving fast cars and bikes. If you find it of use please share. Cheers
