Very sad news. Sheila was a regular at Eyton, sending our condolences to the Crow family and everyone who knew her 🤍

One of point-to-pointing’s greatest trainers, Sheila Crow, has died. She was 87.

Based at Hadnall in Shropshire, Crow handled numerous multiple winners, guided her children Alastair and Lucy to national riding championships, was a key factor in the four title races won by Richard Burton and helped Alastair’s son Henry at the start of his riding career. It was fitting that while in failing health she witnessed Henry’s memorable wins this spring on the Joe O’Shea-trained Barton Snow at the Cheltenham and Aintree festivals.

Tomorrow, tickets will be available on the gate for £20 (free for under 16s), with gates open from 11am.

Yesterday was another great May Day meeting at Balfours LLP Eyton Races 🏇🏻

Thank you so much to everyone who came along to support the point to point, including all of our sponsors and advertisers, as well as the trainers, owners and jockeys who help us put on a fantastic days' racing.

As always, another huge thank you to our officials and volunteers who give up their time to make the fixtures happen, your help is very much appreciated.

We look forward to seeing you all again next year on 29th March and 3rd May 2027!
