Shrewsbury Under 17 Driving Academy We have set up the academy to allow students under 17 to take early off road training. We also offer one off driving experiences, or party sessions.

Providing a safe environment for those aged 14-17 to have a drive behind the wheel 🚗

We also accommodate for over 17s for people with disabilities, anxiety, driving restrictions, taster sessions, etc Venue: Forton airfield
Subject to instructor availability. All students to be accompanied and dropped off by adult. Currently starting with 3 DVSA approved driving instructors, and maybe adding mor

e in the future. We are all CRB checked (4 yearly). Price £50/hr.
3 people party / driving experience £150 prepaid.

☀️🚗 Another fantastic Under 17’s evening at the airfield and, for once, the weather was on our side! 🙌🏻😂

Three instructors out this evening with another great group of young drivers, all getting plenty of valuable time behind the wheel.

There was plenty going on around us tonight too, as harvesting was in full swing on the airfield! 🌾🚜 As well as being our driving playground, it’s also a working farm, so we had tractors and farm machinery busy around us – definitely adding something a little different to tonight’s sessions! 😂

Tonight we stepped things up with reverse slalom and manoeuvres, alongside all the usual skills – clutch control, steering, gear changes, observations, reversing and building that all-important confidence behind the wheel. 🚗💨

It’s always brilliant to see the progress from session to session. Things that seemed daunting the first time suddenly start to click, and the confidence just keeps growing. 👏🏻☺️

A slightly special one for Ellie tonight too, as her Under 17’s journey is nearly over! She turns 17 and starts her official on-road lessons with Sarah on 5th September 🎉🚗 We can’t wait to get you out on the roads and start the next chapter!

Huge well done to Ben, Ellie, Emily, Jamie, Marcie and Maiya – you all did brilliantly tonight! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Congratulations to Cai Webster for passing his test with just 3 driving faults.
Cai started with the Shrewsbury Under 17 Driving Academy, with myself and even though he's from Ellesmere decided to make the trip to Shrewsbury to stay with me for lessons. He has his own car which he's been practicing in with his grandparents. He's off to Bangor University in a few weeks so this come at a good time.

Just 3 instructors on duty today, with Sarah on holiday this time.
5 students took to the controls and showed some excellent skills.

Nerys marked the end of her under 17s learning after nearly 3 years with Rob and she's ready to take to the road next week on her 17th birthday. Good luck and thanks for the card and chocolate. Kiera turned up very nervous, but left with a beaming smile as she started her training with Rob.

Tim had the pleasure of Jasper and Euan also on their first drives.

Charlotte took Courtney on her 2nd drive, even though she's nearly 18 she's using these sessions to build her confidence to go on the road.

Congratulations to Ben Morgan for passing his test first time with 4 driving faults.

Ben started his driving with Wendy on the Shrewsbury Under 17 Driving Academy, and then onto normal road lessons with Wendy, and private practice with his dad in between. Ben was passed over to me when Wendy went for her knee operation as he had his test booked, (hence the early morning test) and needed to carry on with lessons.
It has been great teaching him the final things needed to get him ready for his future on the road.

🌦 Another fantastic Under 17’s evening at the airfield! 🚗👏🏻

The weather couldn’t quite make its mind up tonight, treating us to a few showers along the way, but thankfully it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits! 😊

A great evening with lots of smiling faces and another brilliant group of young drivers gaining valuable experience behind the wheel.

Tonight’s sessions focused on developing those all-important driving foundations, including steering control, clutch control, moving off and stopping, gear changes, reversing and, most importantly, building confidence behind the wheel. Every session is another step closer to becoming safe, confident drivers.

It’s always fantastic to see how quickly these young drivers progress, with confidence growing every time they get behind the wheel. Watching them overcome those first-day nerves and start to relax is one of the best parts of what we do. ☺️

A huge well done to every single one of you this evening – you all did brilliantly and should be really proud of yourselves! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

We can’t wait to see you all back again soon! 🚗😊
