Good afternoon,

It is with great regret that we have to announce the passing of our long serving member of the team Ray Millington.

Many of you may remember Ray from your Saturday morning MOT’s

His funeral will be taking place on Thursday 23rd March at the Crem at 1.15PM followed by the wake being held at Shrewsbury town football ground at 2.30.

We will be closing the garage from 11.00AM on this day so our staff can attend Rays funeral.

Good morning all.
We've been looking after a stray cat from the local area for the past 2-3 months.
It's a lovely cat, very friendly and welcoming! He/she has been fed twice a day.
Black with white markings, and we'd guess it to be an older cat. If anyone is missing one from the local area could you please contact us with the colder months coming in we'd like him to be warm!

WELCOME BACK

We are pleased to announce that we will be reopening on Monday May 11th and look forward to welcoming our customers back.

Our usual working practices will be changed to maintain social distancing and ensure safety of our team and customers.

We would advise our customers to remain in your car when you arrive at the garage and a member of our team will attend to you.

MOT testing and repairs will recommence and our staff will ensure that car surfaces are disinfected as they can harbour germs bacteria and viruses.

The Department of Transport announced a six month exemption from March 30th and this measure remains in place for 12 months however if your MOT has been delayed you should inform your insurer as it is possible your premium may change and your cover may be voided. The 6 month exemption does come with proviso that the vehicle must be kept roadworthy.

Covid- 19 update:

In accordance with governments' guidelines, we are remaining closed for the safety of both customers and staff.

However, we are now preparing for the eventual reopening based on governments advice

Safety measures will be put in place.

Customers visiting the garage will be advised to remain in their car and a member of staff will attend to you.

If you need to leave your car the 2-metre social distancing will be maintained.
All cars will be cleaned and disinfected for the safety of all.

It is with great regret that we have to announce that GI Motors will be closed for the forseeable future as our part in trying to contain the COVID-19 crisis.

The safety of our staff, and ensuring that we are adhering to the Government guidelines on the COVID-19 Crisis is paramount to us. As such we have taken the difficult decision to close the gates until we feel that it is safe and proper to re-open.

For those concerned about their MOT, the Government has issued guidance that all MOT's have a 6 month extension if due after the 30th of March (Info on .Gov websites).

We feel by taking this decision we are making the best choices to protect you as the customers, as well as our staff. We will keep you as informed as we can over the coming months. If you have any questions please contact us for advice.
