It was great to meet so many people from the independent school sector and have some really valuable conversations about school minibus fleets, future vehicle requirements and the challenges that come with managing them.

It's Tyre Safety Month

Make sure you're not in the dark about the condition of your tyres. Use this quick trick to check your tread and see if your tyres need a closer look.

A 20p coin is a handy starting point, but remember, it's not a substitute for an accurate tread-depth measurement or a professional inspection.

Volvo is introducing new connected safety features which alerts drivers of hazards ahead, giving them more time to adapt and drive safer.

The latest software update includes four new alerts:

✔️ The Large Animal Alert can warn other drivers if a large animal is detected
on or near the road ahead.

✔️ The Vulnerable Road User Alert can warn other drivers if pedestrians and
cyclists are detected ahead on or near highways.

✔️ The Roadwork Alert can warn other drivers when roadwork is detected
ahead.

✔️ The Accident Ahead Alert can warn other drivers of accidents further
ahead, using real-time data from connected Volvo cars or traffic
management centres

Clean AirZone Charges Cost Van Drivers Almost £800 Per Year

London van drivers are the ones being affected the most. With an average spend of £99 per month, qhich is equivalent to almost £1,200 per year, followed by those in the Tyneside Clean Air Zone, which covers Newcastle and Gateshead, who spend on average £82 per month (£984 per year). Both London and Tyneside charge the same higher daily entry fee of £12.50, versus the £8 to £10 daily charge applied in the remaining Clean Air Zones operating in England.

New research was taken our by PEUGEOT and it has revealed that van drivers in the UK are spending an average of £780 per year, which equals out to about £65 per month, on fees and penalty chargers for driving in ULEZ zones.
