🚗 Hybrid Range Rover Sport – Multiple Warning Lights & Brake Concern Resolved 🔧
This hybrid Range Rover Sport arrived with multiple warning lights across the dashboard — and a very concerned owner after the fault developed during a short drive to us.
With reduced braking performance, this isn’t something to ignore… especially in a 2-ton, 400hp vehicle! ⚠️
We began with a full diagnostic check and found numerous communication faults and missing messages across several control units. However, nothing immediately pointed us in a clear direction.
After consulting wiring diagrams and technical service bulletins, we went back to basics 🕵️♂️ — looking for a common link between all the faults.
💡 Sometimes, when everything looks complicated… the cause is simple.
Being a hybrid, this vehicle uses both a high-voltage (HV) system and a 12V system. Testing the 12V supply revealed just 8.2V in the auxiliary battery — well below the required level.
Further checks confirmed:
✔️ HV system charging was functioning correctly
✔️ Brake booster module relies directly on the auxiliary battery
Testing the battery showed it had failed.
We installed a known good battery, reset the vehicle, and carried out a road test — everything returned to normal 👍
To complete the repair, we:
🔧 Replaced the auxiliary battery with a new genuine unit (located in the rear load area near the HV battery)
💻 Performed all required adaptations and programming
✅ Result: A fully restored system and a Range Rover performing exactly as it should — smooth, safe, and refined.
