🦇 BATMAN CALLED… HIS BATMOBILE NEEDED RESCUING!

Even Bruce Wayne needs a little help sometimes! 😂

After spending £1,200 at a dealership for paintwork correction and a protective coating, the results were less than impressive…

Unfortunately, it’s something we see far too often. A massive bill, poor workmanship and a customer left disappointed.

I’ve previously detailed three cars for this customer, and naturally, he expected the same level of service from the dealership.

To be fair, they’d definitely applied something, but the preparation was shocking. The paintwork was still full of contamination, almost as if it hadn’t even seen a clay bar!

Here’s my advice…

If you’re buying a new car and considering a protective coating, PLEASE consider using a local independent detailer. Even if you can’t get in with me I can always recommend some decent local people.

You might not get a fancy coffee or a shiny showroom on arrival, but you’ll often get far better workmanship, attention to detail and value for money.

Straight in for protection while everything is still fresh

This brand-new BMW came to us for a full preparation and coating package, getting the paintwork properly cleaned, prepared and protected from day one.

Even on a new car there’s always room for improvement, so the paintwork received a light gloss enhancement to refine the finish and bring out the depth in that stunning blue before the protection went on.

The package included:

• Full exterior safe wash & decontamination
• Paintwork preparation & gloss enhancement
• Ceramic coating applied to the bodywork

The idea with a new-car package isn’t heavy correction — it’s about getting the car looking its best before locking that finish in and making it much easier to maintain going forward.

And that blue certainly pops in the sun

A bit of a transformation on this one not my cup of tea car but I’ve always liked the rear window .

The alloys originally came in for a refurb, with the plan being to take them from the existing diamond-cut finish back to an OEM-style finish. Unfortunately, as they’d already been refurbished previously, there simply wasn’t enough material left on the face to safely cut them again.

Rather than compromise the wheels, we opted for a full gloss black finish instead — and they’ve completely changed the look of the car. 🖤

With the wheels going black, the calipers were always going to stand out, so while everything was apart we refinished those in red to give a nice bit of contrast.

While it was with us we also:

• Gave the wheel arches a proper clean
• Repaired and sorted the front bumper grille
• Carried out a full gloss enhancement to bring the paintwork back up
• Finished everything off with a protective coating for added gloss and easier maintenance

A few relatively simple changes, but together they’ve made a massive difference to the overall finish of the car.

A proper clean-up on this one!

Full exterior clean, polished and coated to bring the white paintwork back to life and get some protection back on it. Not used at all really since the last time it was done by Matt but had covered 100miles just about 😂..

We also got underneath and gave the underside, arches and suspension a good shampoo and clean spray down — as best we could with out access to a ramp.

First time this car has seen water in 10-15years*

Back for its yearly sort out.

Jamie probably uses this more than he should… but we love it for exactly that. It’s certainly no weekend car, and I fully understand why! 😂

This time around we gave the paintwork a full once-over to bring back the gloss and give the existing protection a refresh.

Rather than cutting the paint back again, we used CARPRO Essence Plus — an SiO₂-based coating repair product designed to restore gloss, revive hydrophobic properties and help repair and refresh the existing ceramic coating.

It’s a great option when the paint doesn’t need correcting again. Instead of unnecessarily removing coating and clear coat with another machine polish, we can bring the finish back to life and top up the protection already there.

Exactly what these yearly maintenance visits are all about.

Maintain it. Protect it. Enjoy it.

Clean up on this iconic Honda S2000

It’s crazy to see the value of these nowadays, but it’s easy to understand why. High-revving VTEC, rear-wheel drive, manual gearbox and a proper old-school driving experience — such a fun car to drive and becoming harder and harder to find in this condition.

This one came in for:

- Full gloss enhancement
- Ceramic coating applied for protection
- Brake calipers restored back to red after previously being replaced

A proper modern classic, now looking exactly how it should again.
