🫶💖 NATIONAL JUST BECAUSE DAY 💖🫶

When I was thinking about what to post on Facebook today, I came across National Just Because Day , something I’d never actually heard of before, but I really liked the idea behind it and wanted to share it.

Just Because Day is a light-hearted, unofficial day that encourages us to do something simply “just because” , without needing a special occasion or a reason.🌟

So here are a few of my “just because” ideas… and maybe you should have a few “just because” moments today too. 💖

Send someone you love their favourite emoji 🤩, a quote that makes you think of them, or simply a message to tell them that you love them. 🩷

Tell someone you appreciate them , because everybody likes to feel appreciated. 🫶

Make someone their favourite drink , whether it’s a cup of tea, a hot chocolate, a coffee or even an orange juice. ☕🧃

Wear your favourite shoes that have been sitting in the box waiting for a special occasion or the perfect dress to go with them. Wear the shoes! even if it’s only to the supermarket! 👠

Cuddle and love your dog for a little bit longer today 🐾 because time is precious and unfortunately, it doesn’t have a pause button. 🐾🩷

Give someone a compliment , it might be exactly what they need to hear.⭐️

Sometimes people just want someone to talk to, have a little chitchat with or simply offload to , take the time to listen. 💛🌸

Treat yourself to that extra chocolate bar 🍫 or 🍰.

Be more present 📱put your phone down for a little while and enjoy the moment you’re actually in.

Be kind, because kindness is free. And smile! 😊 A smile can be contagious , you might make someone else smile and they might pass that smile on to somebody else. 😍

We’re all busy, we all have worries, and you never really know what someone else might be dealing with.

Be kind and patient. We are all just trying our best in this amazing but crazy world.🌍

sometimes the smallest thing can make someone’s whole day. 🌟

So maybe today, have a few “just because” moments of your own…

No reason needed. Just because you can. 💛✨

We’re incredibly proud of our close-knit team and the way we always pull together, even when things get busy and challenging.

MONDAY MYTHS 🚗

❌ MYTH: “Once my car passes its MOT, it’s safe for another 12 months.”

✅ FACT: Not necessarily!

An MOT confirms that your vehicle met the required standards at the time it was tested.

Things can change throughout the year — tyres wear, bulbs fail, brakes deteriorate and faults can develop.

⚠️ Your MOT certificate is not a 12-month guarantee that your vehicle will remain roadworthy.

It’s the driver’s responsibility to make sure their vehicle remains safe and roadworthy between MOTs. 🚗✅

🚗 WHAT IS AN MOT? 🚗

An MOT is a legal safety and emissions inspection to check that your vehicle meets the minimum required standards on the day of the test.

⚠️ A MOT is not a service 🚗

Below is a list of some of the things an MOT does NOT include:

❌ Changing your engine oil
❌ Replacing your oil filter
❌ Replacing your air filter
❌ Replacing your fuel filter
❌ Replacing your pollen/cabin filter
❌ Checking the condition or wear of your clutch
❌ Checking the internal health or condition of your engine
❌ Checking your timing belt or timing chain condition
❌ Changing your spark plugs
❌ Servicing your brakes
❌ Topping up or replacing service fluids
❌ Checking or servicing your air conditioning
❌ Carrying out a computer diagnostic scan
❌ Investigating mechanical noises or faults
❌ Checking whether your vehicle is up to date with its recommended servicing
❌ A road test / test drive

🔧 MOT = INSPECTION
🛢️ SERVICE = MAINTENANCE

A vehicle can pass its MOT and still require a service or have mechanical issues.

An MOT pass means your vehicle met the required MOT standards at the time it was tested — it does not mean that every part of your vehicle has been checked or that it is mechanically fault-free.

We hope this helps explain the difference between an MOT and a service 😊 Keeping up with both is an important part of looking after your vehicle and keeping it safe and maintained throughout the year. 🚗💕

🐾 A little personal post from me… 🐾

As many of our lovely customers know, I absolutely LOVE dogs (and all animals!). ❤️

If you’ve ever visited us at The Garage Shefford with your dog, you’ll probably know that I’m the first one wanting to come and say hello, have a fuss, and, of course, reach for a treat from our Garage Dog Treat Box! 🦴🐶

I truly believe that every animal deserves love, kindness, and a safe place to call home. To me, they’re like little humans… just covered in fur. ❤️

That’s why I’ve decided to take on the London to Brighton Cycle Ride on Sunday 13th September in aid of Dogs Trust. 🚴‍♀️🐾

I’ve been training for a little while now and have worked my way up to around 40 miles, with the challenge being 55 miles… so I’m nearly there! 💪

Every mile I cycle is for the dogs still waiting for love, care, and a forever home. 🐕❤️

If you would like to support me and this amazing charity, I would be incredibly grateful for any donation, no matter how small.
