Driving is probably the most dangerous thing your employees do in their line of work. This Road Safety Week (15-21 November) we're hosting a free webinar for anyone who employs people who drive for work to come and learn more about the robust policies and procedures that can manage road risk at work.

Road Safety Week webinar - Wednesday 18 November 10am - 11.30am.

• Get practical, take-home tips that will help you ensure your drivers are as safe as possible on every journey they make.
• Learn how the way we drive affects our risk of being in a crash and how the choices we make when we’re behind the wheel can make a big difference.
• Find out how modern vehicle technology can help you address risky driving behaviours.
• Explore the real risks associated with fatigue, impairment and driver distraction, and how you can create a culture that puts safety first and champions driver wellbeing.

We often get asked “How do you expect me to secure this type of load”?

We don't expect you to do anything but, the DVSA do. When it comes to load security the DVSA don't care what the freight is, they are more concerned as to how its secured.

Generally whatever you are using to secure the load should be able to withstand:

100% of the weight forward
50% left and right
50% rearwards

The operator has to supply suitable securing devices, whether its ratchet straps, cups and bars, chains, rope, nets etc and the driver should be given clear instruction on the use of any securing devices.
