One of the biggest considerations when choosing a recovery truck is payload capacity — and our Open Center Recovery Body delivers exactly that.

📋 Before & After Weigh-In Results:

⚖️ Chassis weight before body installation: 1,740kg (including fuel)
⚖️ Vehicle weight after body installation: 1,980kg (including fuel)

Our recovery bodies are designed to be as lightweight as possible whilst maintaining the strength and durability required for everyday recovery operations.

Depending on the customer’s specification and optional extras, our Open Center Recovery Body typically adds just 180–200kg to the vehicle, whilst our Closed Center Recovery Body typically adds around 220kg.

Many 3.5T recovery trucks typically achieve a payload capacity of around 1.3–1.4 tonnes. Our customers regularly achieve payload capacities within this range whilst benefiting from the strength, durability and functionality that our recovery bodies are known for.
