A true piece of our history… 🕰️
Back in 1931, TC Harrison began life on Abbeydale Road in Sheffield as a small automotive servicing workshop. It was here that founder Thomas ‘Cuth’ Harrison laid the foundations for everything TCH Group has become today.

What makes this even more special is that, side by side, the original site is still recognisable... a powerful reminder of our roots and how far we’ve come.
From one workshop to 95 years in business, our story has always been driven by people, passion, and community. 💙

Our story continues into the modern day… 👉🏼
The 1990s marked a bold new era for TCH, closing our longstanding London Road Sheffield dealership and ushering in a period of expansion, with several new Ford dealerships, alongside the opening of our flagship site in Derby. 🔧

As we moved into the 2000s, our Head Office relocated to Bakewell, while new purpose-built sites for TCH JCB and TCH Leasing were established in Sheffield.

In the years since, we’ve continued to expand, innovate and strengthen our position across Ford, JCB and TCH Leasing, growing into the business we are today.

95 years on, and our story is still being written 💙

Our journey through the decades continues… 👉🏼
As we move into the 1960s, TCH entered a new phase of growth and expansion. TCH Leasing was established in Sheffield, and the Derby Ford dealership joined the business, strengthening our presence in the automotive industry.

The 1970s saw rapid growth, with four JCB dealerships acquired across Lincolnshire, Northumberland and Derbyshire, expanding our reach and capability.

And by the 1980s, TCH continued to evolve… marking the end of an era following the passing of founder Thomas ‘Cuth’ Harrison. Leadership transitioned to the next generation, ensuring continuity and long-term stability.

We’re celebrating 95 years of TCH Group by taking it right back to where it all began… In 1931, a 25-year-old Thomas ‘Cuth’ Harrison opened a small service and repair business on Abbeydale Road, Sheffield. From just two people, a legacy was born. ✨
By 1936, TCH secured a Ford franchise... the start of a partnership that continues to this day.
In 1947, as the UK rebuilt after the war, we became one of the very first businesses in the world to partner with JCB... a relationship that still defines us.
And in 1950, Cuth himself made history, competing in the very first Formula One World Championship race at Silverstone. 🏁

From workshop roots to a pioneering name in automotive and machinery... this is just the beginning of our story. Come back tomorrow for the next chapter in our story 📖
