Hi all, sorry it’s been quiet on here recently. There’s been quite a few changes here at Veloce over the last few months but I’m pleased to say we’re back and the work is flooding in.

Here we received a customer complaint regarding a rattle from the engine bay while the vehicle was sat at idle.

A common issue of the 2.0 Ingenium Engine found within these vehicles is failure of the Timing Chain which can lead to catastrophic engine failure.

Fortunately the customer noticed the issue before it could progress and we were able to carry out the repair.

We carried out a full replacement of the Timing Chain’s and carried out a full service on the vehicle as well.

☑️ AUDI A7 2.0 MHEV

This vehicle was brought into us to Diagnose a major Coolant Leak. Despite the car only being 3 years old the Timing Belt and Water Pump were long overdue thanks to the high mileage.

We confirmed that the Water Pump had failed and advised replacement of the Timing Belt.

Upon Removal of the Timing Cover we found that the Belt had started to perish and was almost ready to snap. This would’ve resulted in major engine damage for the customer and a potentially hefty bill.

Thankfully this one was caught just in time.

Manufacturer Specific Service carried out on this Leon including Timing Belt Replacement.

During the Health Check we also found the Front Brakes required replacement as well as a cracked Auxiliary Belt. We were able to inform the customer and get all the parts sorted within the day ready for its MOT in the afternoon.

Timing Belt and Water Pump replacement carried out.

Didn’t manage to get many pictures of this one as it kept raining.

However the belt was very worn and definitely due for replacement.

Failure to maintain your timing belt and keep up with regular replacement intervals can result in major engine failure.

A common fault with these vehicles is a loss of coolant due to the Thermostat failing, unfortunately for this customer the Electronic Control Module for the Thermostat had shut down putting the vehicle into Limp Mode.

We carried out the replacement of the Thermostat Housing & Water Pump all at the customers home.

All Genuine Parts supplied and fitted.

Customer complaint of a knocking noise on the front of the vehicle, we carried out a full investigation and found the drivers front shock was leaking.

We carried out the replacement of the Shock Absorber using Genuine Parts and carried out a full Health Check of the vehicle while it was with us.
