We at Foreman Bros would like to share that Gary Foreman is raising funds for Alzheimer's Research UK, a cause that has become very close to his heart and his family's. Your support will help fund vital research into dementia and bring hope to those affected by the disease.
Gary💬: My journey with Alzheimer’s began in 2019, when my family first noticed changes in my memory and behaviour. Initially, we put these changes down to stress, as we were caring for both my in-laws and my own parents, all of whom were living with dementia.
Following a series of assessments and brain scans, I was diagnosed with Sporadic Young-Onset Alzheimer’s disease. The condition affects my ability to read, write and interpret what I see. As a result, I have had to give up driving, riding my motorbike and using my caravan. I now rely on support with many everyday tasks and activities that I once took for granted.
I am 65 years old and spent more than 40 years running our family car dealership (Foreman Bros). I feel incredibly fortunate to have three wonderful and successful children, all of whom were involved in Scouting when they were younger. Their enthusiasm inspired me to become a Scout leader, a role I proudly held for 25 years and thoroughly enjoyed.
Today, my greatest joy comes from being a grandad to my three beautiful grandchildren, all under the age of four. Spending time with them is truly precious, and they give me every reason to cherish each day.
I’m taking on this challenge to support ARUK and help fund research for a cure.
