Is the collective noun for driving instructors the same as it is for pandas? 🐼

It can’t be the same as fish 🐟 because that would be too obvious!!

Given what happens when we meet up, we should probably call it a “curry of instructors”!

Brilliant news for Sam today in York. A 3 fault pass is the only way to start the week!

Another eventful one with day 2 lesson being driven into and learning more about insurance and scene management than driving!

Sam is proof that nerves can dominate the practical test. His Mum and Dad doing lots of private practice outside of lessons really helped but, come the day, it was down to Sam to control the nerves which he did in style with some really measured driving, tricky interactions with some inconsiderate riders and drivers really testing his skills, all witnessed by me riding along in the back seat.

Success for Riley in York this morning.

What a determined, well mannered gentle giant this young man is.

From day 2 driving fairly independently to Goole to test ready in a short space of time.

Even a broken ankle a couple of days before his original test didn’t phase him and once recovered I was amazed to see his his clutch control was even better! Not advice I would normally give to improve car control but Riley was certain it was not going to hold him back.

I’ve really enjoyed my short time with Riley, getting to know him and sharing today with him. He hasn’t needed much from me as an instructor apart from some small adjustments and seeing his smile as he arrived back from test was the icing on the cake.

Stay safe, enjoy it and give me a wave 🚙

Success in York today for Liv.

It’s been a rollercoaster on this journey with lots thrown at Liv outside of learning but she’s got there with a solid 2 fault pass and positive feedback.

Liv has been my in car settler each week, she knows everyone and tells it how it is and that’s been a nice moderator for me each week. We’ve had hits and misses and pretty much every life event possible.
Over the moon for my mate Liv, go and enjoy it and remember, drive for you 😂

Massive congratulations to Katie on passing her driving test!

Pressure, what pressure!

Katie, who is my Daughter’s friend (also Katie) had a few practice sessions before officially learning to drive and had eyes on her from the go.

Despite the nervy start, she picked things up quick.

Some lessons from home but some lessons after college, meaning that the 2 Katie’s would be collected from maccies and turn up with a share box of nuggets for me!! Anything to shut me up I’m sure! Result!

Katie soon became confident with the drive and pushed on and when her test was cancelled and rescheduled to when I was away biking in Europe, what did she do?? Just got on with it and smashed it out! No pressure at all.

Her single driving fault was apparently for me not being there as her instructor (not sure that’s totally true) but when your testing in your own car (with Mum) and the pressure is on, passing with a measly fault doesnt really care thinking about!

Well done Katie, banter in car was brilliant, even when I was outnumbered, and this was only outdone by persistence, so go and enjoy it all mate, you’ve earned it. 🚙

Good luck to all of our future learners with their GCSEs today!

Don’t stress too much. We didn’t do brilliantly and yet today here we are, Ol, Adele and our friend James of JT Driving, riding our motorbikes across Europe!

Your future isn’t decided by exam results! It’s decided by passing your driving / riding test! 🤣
