Thanks ever so much to Karen of ‘Karen J Ward Jewellery’ for donating these quirky earrings to our Presidents Day fundraiser which was on Sat 4th October.

Karen makes one of a kind pieces, takes commissions and also gives jewellery making lessons in her workshop. It’s a lovely cosy atmosphere and Karen is a great teacher.

What an absolutely fantastic day we had on Saturday. It was absolutely wonderful, the sun shone like a superhero, there were people everywhere enjoying their bbq, fishing and golf (well, as much as can be expected, we do have bunkers out there).

Thanks so much to everyone who came to the night do, played bingo, donated prizes, sponsored a hole, sponsored a pin or longest drive, bought raffles tickets, bid on the auction, generally came along to support. We hope you had a really good time.

A special thank you to the Scalm Park Team for working like absolute troopers.

Thanks to the office team for helping all the golfers on their way out to play and the preparations for such a busy day over the last months.

Thanks to the kitchen and bar teams who expertly fed and watered about a million people and to the ground staff lads who worked so hard to make the course beautiful for you all. It is so appreciated.

Thanks also to all the people who stepped in to help run things, Culkin for doing a fab job of the auction, DJ Superstar CP, Lynne for doing the raffle, Gracey for working all day and still finding the energy to help stick raffle tickets on last thing at night, Goslings, Kirstie bear and Rich H for their contributions and the rest of you know who you are. Your support meant such a lot. It’s impossible to name everyone.

Thanks to FHLTA for coming along to show their support, it was lovely to meet Debbie and Louise who played in the Transplant Games with dad over the years.

And for everyone who wore their cowboy hats in memory of Sid. Thank you. What a tribute. Some people even went further and dressed up complete cowboy/cowgirl. Helen and Shaz wore T-shirts with an S for Sid on specially made, Kirstie and Stu came fully tassled up and the pink ladies and Nanci, well what can I say? Don’t we have the most wonderful community? Really touched.

Big love to each and everyone of you. Total to follow once it’s all been added up but I know it’s an epic total. I can feel it.

Today’s the big day.

Presidents Day 2026.

In loving memory of John Sidney Lamb.

Happily the sun is shining and there are people everywhere. A beautiful day to remember dad.

I’d like to say a massive thank you to the family and the Scalm Park Team for all their hard work in preparing for today.

So much goes into it. The office team, the bar team and the grounds team have all worked their socks off and their dedication to making this day special is really touching.

A heartfelt thank you to you all. 💖

Even Sid’s grandchildren are all here helping out. Jaxon has donated a couple of his drawings in memory of his granddad and they are really good.

Come along and join in the fun. If you’re not golfing or fishing it all kicks off at 5pm with bingo. I’ll pop the itinerary in the comments for you.
