🏍️ BMW F800GT | MAJOR SERVICE WITH VALVE CHECK + FORK REBUILD 🏍️

This BMW F800GT was in with us at James Price Motorcycles NE Ltd this week for a major service and valve clearance check. 🔧

The forks were also leaking, so we removed, stripped and rebuilt them with new bushes, fork seals, dust seals and fresh fork oil. 💪

The major service on BMW’s parallel-twin models, like this F800GT, is a more involved job than on the boxer engines. As you can see, quite a bit of the bike needs to be removed to gain access to the top of the engine, but it’s all in a day’s work at JPM! 👌

This beast of a BMW R1300 GS Adventure was in with us at JPM – James Price Motorcycles this week for its 12k service and valve check. 🔧

When it comes to keeping a bike like this performing at its best, attention to detail matters. We carried out the service using genuine BMW parts and manufacturer-recommended procedures, with the usual JPM care and attention. 💪

🏍️ Honda ST1300 Pan European – A Tricky Braking Fault Diagnosed & Repaired! 🔧

It’s not always easy servicing jobs here at JPM! Sometimes we get to tackle the jobs that others just don’t want to take on.

This Honda ST1300 Pan European came to us after the rear brake had seized on whilst riding on the motorway. The rear caliper had already been cleaned elsewhere, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the root of the problem.

The ST1300’s linked ABS braking system is a complicated setup, with brake lines and hoses running throughout the bike. Finding the actual cause required some careful diagnosis.

🔍 We traced the fault to the secondary master cylinder on the left-hand fork leg. Its internal seals had deteriorated, sending small rubber particles through the braking system and causing the rear brake to bind on.

✅ We sourced and fitted new genuine Honda parts, then carried out a complete brake system flush to remove the contamination and get everything working as it should.

Not a straightforward job by any means, very fiddly, time-consuming work that required patience and methodical fault-finding!

Another tricky problem solved and another bike safely back on the road. That’s what we do here at James Price Motorcycles NE Ltd!

🏍️🇮🇹 Aprilia Mana 850 – A Rare One in the Workshop! 🇮🇹🏍️

This Aprilia Mana 850 rolled into us this week for an interim service and a fresh pair of Pirelli Angel ST tyres! 🛞

As you can see, the old tyres were definitely ready for retirement, and it was due a set of spark plugs too!

These are really interesting machines, combining the 850cc V-twin powerplant with Aprilia’s innovative twist-and-go transmission, all wrapped up in a proper motorcycle package!

I’ve sold and worked on plenty of these over the years, and they’re becoming a rarer sight nowadays, so it’s always great to have one through the workshop.

I’ve always been a big fan of Aprilias from the 2000s. They were never afraid to do things differently, and the Mana is a perfect example of that Italian innovation! 🇮🇹🔥

Another interesting bike, another job done! 🏍️🔧
