🔧The left over particles of a failing wet timing belt!
This one is from a Citroen with the 1.2 Pure tech engine, which is found in Peugeot's, Citreons & Vauxhall's amongst others.

If left eventually either the belt will snap, or the particles will clog the oil pick up, either way causing alot of damage.

These belts can be measured and inspected without stripping the engine as an indication of whether or not replacement is required.
